Something I thought was interesting about the Horn Jr pick. Candles didn't seem very impressed and Dan Morgan wanted "some Miami" in the room/building. I think a difference in perspective between them for late round picks. Dan valued the dang in him, Canales less interested because holes in his game.
Note : all this is based on my dumbass reaction to a 10 second snippet.

it's easy to read too much into it.
i think at this point everyone is likely tired because this is the culmination of months of hard work and they finally get to the end and the hype is worn off. you feel good about what you've done and it's a big deal, but it's more just being able to breathe again because you realize that you haven't done it for a while. for horn, it's been all about the waiting and he finally doesn't have to wonder where he will be.
i don't think it's anything beyond that. i'm sure canales is happy to have horn,jr. here. i'm sure that horn is happy to be here.

Looks like he was a big fan.

i think that's one of the things they talk about in the McAfee video. since teams are releasing stuff like this, it's cutting down on the appeal of hard knocks.

The trio of Morgan/Tilis/Canales has me feeling optimistic for the future. Now we need to see this on the field.
As for Tepper. I don't mind him being in the draft room and giving basic input. Anything beyond that should and will ilicit criticism. Just be an owner and let the football people make the decisions when the time comes. And that's what he did so I have no complaints.
I will say as far as the draft and FA we seem to have put a higher emphasis on seeking additions with the right mentality and high character. They're trying to instill a culture. I have no idea if it will work but at least they are making it a priority. That's all I can ask for at this juncture.
one thing that was interesting was how they were using Tepper.
They had Eric Eager doing analytics on mocks he was running to see who might be available later and then he was relaying to them the odds of so and so being there later and then they would look at Tepper and ask wat he thinks of those odds and even then it was kind of "we're already making up our mind about this, but are you in the boat with us?"
so any involvement tepper had in the discussion was limited and kind of just a courtesy. that's just my perception anyways. i could be completely wrong. wouldn't be the first time.

Ol’ Tepp is still very much involved.
doesn't sound like he's making the decisions, though. sounds like he's letting them make the decisions and they are just asking if he's on board with it all. i think he trusts them to get the job done. probably isn't easy for him to let go, but he might just be learning.

Wonder why they have not resigned Pinero and added him to the PK competition. Not saying he should have the job but only having a rookie and another dude that has been on several teams does not seem like a fantastic plan.

last year i think he sat out of camps waiting for a new deal that he never got so that probably put a bit of a stink in the relationship between him and the panthers.

i love these guys. so fun to watch. that guy on the hand percussion is insane.
just a weird and interesting texture of sounds and influences they've got going on. someone said it is what a James Bond film would be like if Quentin Tarrintino was controlling the music.

Bryce Young has pretty much been the definition of a slower starter going into every season. I frankly don't like the fact the "easy" games are upfront.
plus, the flip side is the Jags are talking about us just like we are them. And I think they have more proven explosive offensive players. I think at best, it's a coin flip opener. Jags probably will be favored by Vegas.
oh i'm sure the jags will be favored, but it's mainly just based on optics. nothing substantive at this point. i mean how could it be anything but that?
it is funny to hear jags fans talk about this game being a gimme for them. do they need to be reminded that the second half of the season last year the only games they won were against the titans. while they picked up hunter in the draft...i mean is that one guy going to be THE difference between winning and losing this year?
who else did they pick up? dynami brown? ok...nice pick up, but again...is it enough to drastically turn things around? also, trevor lawrence. when was the last impressive game he had?
and with a new coach? i just don't see any reason for much optimism.

i was in 2 defensive only player leagues. had to keep it creative.
the 2 conferences in the Psycho Ward were basically independent leagues with their own draft. you would play two games a week. one game would be against your own conference and the other game would against the other conference. so if you had Payton Manning on your team, you could also be playing against him in the game against the other conference.
