Offensive Line Is Terrible

Keep Pounding

Recommended Posts

How much could Tenn seriously want for Roos? Donald Stephenson is coming back from a 4 game suspension in KC. Maybe they would be willing to part ways with him. Hell Bryant McKinnie is broke from making it rain at titty bars. Even at 35, I am sure he can't be any worse than Chandler.

Just do something DG. You know as well as all of us that with the current line, Cam will be on IR before the season ends.

My main concern is that we keep using those "insert a high number" steps drop backs. Even on shotgun Cam takes a couple of extra steps back. Our tackles are a lot better against power rushes compared to speed rushed (which is still bad, but at least not terrible). Why drop back so much and give the speed rushers extra ground to work with?

Dallas has wasted 3 of 4 first round picks on an interior OL... & their defense is bottom 3-5 in the league...

I don't wish to do anything like Dallas.

lol Really!! Your joking right. Cowboys might not have a top defense like in the past. But their oline is protecting their QB and opening the running lanes just enough to make their RB the top RB this year so far in Murry. This can be debated back and forth. Some people say D wins games some say offense wins games. I think it is both. But at the end of the day I whether spend  a lot of picks on oline to make sure we have running lanes and protection for our QB then have top 5 D. Having top D can only do so much. You got to score to win. Offense does the job. If we had the oline Cowboys have right now. Cam and company would be putting up insane amounts of points per game. But we want know until we get one. But Cowboys can score and have bottom rank D and be 3-1 right now. I'll take that any day. Plain and simple.

would love to invest heavily in the offensive line like Dallas did in the most recent drafts. We need a LT in the worst way.

I really see us going back-to-back o-line the first two rounds in the draft this year unless there is a topnotch safety around our pick. I know it will depend on the value there, and I agree it should. But at some point it needs to be addressed. Maybe one FA OL and one in draft. Either way, you cant keep ignoring it if their play doesn't pick up. I know some may disagree (I'm not completely sold either) but there is still 12 more games. (At least) They still have a chance to show they can keep Cam clean as a unit. We shall see.....

    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
    • Don’t recall seeing many of his interviews but what strikes me is that he engages and goes in depth. Even with the cliche answers as referenced by OP come across somewhat thoughtful.  Very likable personality despite being someone who can crush an average person like I can crush a paper cup. I knew Motons mother had a career at MSU but was looking on the google and found that Mushin Muhammad personally knew Motons grandfather.   His late grandfather was a professor at MSU.   Cool guy.  Interesting family and small world.
    • I think people aren’t patient enough with Young. It can take a few years for a QB to develop. Look at Darnold, Baker and most recently Daniel Jones.   he hasn’t been able to put up big passing numbers either cause of how much we run the ball. You can tell our coaching staff still hasn’t took the training wheels off Bryce and let him go all out. We’ve had some pretty bad receivers as well. We finally got a true number one last year and look how much Bryce improved. Still we didn’t really have any depth behind TMac. Coker was hurt for a lot of the year and XL was our #2. How many big plays or TDs has XL dropped? I think this year can be the year we see Bryce able to hit his stride. If not then we can start looking for another qb but I just ask people to be patient.
