Why did we sign Ed Dickson?

Olsen?

But yeah, Bersin is even dropping critical passes. I never thought that the person I want back most is Philly Brown.

Philly's been very good as a WR. We should honestly start him opposite KB. He played better against the Steelers than Cotch and Avant have all year.

Why is this a question directed about Gettleman? He signed a good quality #2 TE, everyone loved the signing. It's not Gettleman's fault Shula has absolutely no idea how to incorporate him into the offense.

Dickson has had limited opportunities but he has done absolutely nothing with them. A good blocking TE would have helped out our situation more.

I absolutely agree Williams should replace Dickson. That one play alone Thursday showed a lot of explosive big play potential, even if his knee was down.

It was a clutch 3rd down conversion. Still a great play even though it wasn't a TD.

That's the weirdest part of this season for me.

Jason Avant never dropped anything before he played here. Now suddenly he's dropping a bunch.

Only thing I can factor in is the velocity of the passes he's getting.

Everyone should know how much I love Avant, but the dude has looked like crap the past few games.

i didn't really like his signing, Ravens fans i talked to didn't like him, and all the talk of going back to a 2TE set, like we had in 2011 didn't help because then it was Olsen and Shockey...dickson isn't poo in shockey's back yard...

i also didn't like that we signed the same receiver twice...we should have signed Cotchery OR Avant, not both....they are the same player...then used the other signing for a more down field type receiver, be it anybody, just as long as we didn't sign the same guy twice, but we did...

Olsen hasn't had the opportunity to drop any lately lol.

Bersin did drop a huge one but I wont hold that against him too bad.  He's been effective until that point.  He still deserves a jersey for now.

    • I agree, unfortunately Styles is likely to be gone to the Cowboys at 12 if not sooner.
    • This is what I was going to post.  If he doesn't go top 10, someone will trade up for him.  He is a difference maker. Wondering where the TE from Oregon is.  This is the first mock I've seen without him in the first round.  Would like the Panthers to upgrade that position and give our QB a security blanket on possession routes to complement what Tet and Jalen can do down the field.
    • Proctor and Lomu still on the board at 19?  I don't think we have the luxury to pass on them after Icky's injury.  Anything other than a stud LT in the 1st round if they are still there is the wrong pick. Sure, Styles will be a great pick for anyone that gets him including us.  But for us, at what cost?  A great defense won't mean a hill of beans if Young is constantly running for his life.  Protecting Young should be our biggest priority.  If Icky had not been injured then Styles, Parker or Allen would have been fine with me.  In fact, with who was left I would have seriously considered taking calls to trade back 5 to 6 spots and gain draft capital.
