Well Fellas, Atlanta's Comin' Up

With Week One being a sad loss, riddled with turnovers and missed tackles on Special Teams, we must now look on to Week Two: The Atlanta Falcons.

Now, don't get me wrong. Carolina easily has what it takes to win against the Dirty Birds. However, they are not to be underestimated.

Jake's job may be on the line next week. This will make him a little more nervous than usual. How wonderful. Jake, if you're reading this, I still have faith in you. Just keep your cool, man. Keep in mind that you are, overall, the seventh best QB in the league. You're no second rate. You have the stats and experience to back your poo up. Keep poundin' it, man.

The OL needs to...NEEDS TO keep the pocket together. The pocket fell apart almost EVERY SNAP today. It was sad, to say the least. You need to keep Jake protected so that he has time to scan and think on pass plays. On rush plays, holes HAVE to be made for J Stew and D Will.

Now, the D# needs to shape up, and fast. The Corners and Safeties need to watch what Matt Ryan's eyes are doing. Who's he looking at? Keep a look out for who he's gonna throw to. As far as the Falcons rushing, the LB Core needs to really keep it's eyes out, and look for that ball in the RB's arms before they go committing to a route. The DL needs to keep holes from opening up for the RB. You have to keep 'em in the backfield. No more missed tackles. That's what I saw some of today. The tackling was better than in the Steelers game, for sure. But just keep practicing, and keep poundin'.

Now, the Special Teams need to really shape up, especially on defending against Punt Returners. I saw at least 20 missed tackles on Punt Returns. That has got to shape up and quick, or Carolina's fuged.

Now, as for Steve Smith, you need to find ways to shake the corners, man. I know they were double and triple teaming you, but you know how things are. If Jake's under pressure, he looks for good ole' 89. He tends to overshoot when under pressure, so you'll need to use your vertical abilities a lot if you're gonna get those receptions. Just keep, poundin', man.

Overall, things just need to tighten up. Like I was saying all day today: "Playtime is OVER! This aint fugin' Pre-Season no more! STOP fugIN" AROUND!"

Just keep poundin' it, fellas! Remember, I got your back, and so does everyone on this message board, and all Carolina fans! We got your backs, so play well, and stay healthy!

Yeah I hope that we beat Atlanta I'll be driving down there to the game from Ky as usual this time of the season and as much poo as will be talked in Atl I hope Jake doesn't embarrass us. (Is anyone else going I would like to meet some of yall).

I have a feeling this is the only time ky will be used with the Panthers this season.

    • Purdy only passed for 127 yards week 18 and then only passed for 108 yards in the playoffs. In those two games he had 0 TD's and 2 INT's and a fumble. Mayes in the Superbowl had a total of 63 yards with 0 TDS at the 13 minute mark in the fourth quarter. He only had success when the Seahawks went into prevent defense. Philip Rivers only had 127 total yards in week 15. Boomer with the Vikings had 126 yards and 4 INTS in week 13. Cousins had 167 yrds week 14 and while it was over 150 yards, he also had 2 INTs with 0 TDs. Yeah Young didn't have a good game but neither did any of these other QBs. And while he had the lowest yardage, he was the only other QB that at least had a TD - Philips had the other.
    • He has to have a great year not a great few games...probably gonna have to finish with a winning record too for the first time as well. Front office has all the leverage, havent got much on the return for trading up in the draft no matter what bryce fans want to say. They have no reason to offer an extension right now. All the talk about his personality is just deflection off the talk about money. You can be the nicest guy in the world, it doesnt win games or make you a top 10 QB. They know that, spending all that money on the O line and drafting multiple offensive players in the first round of past drafts says a QB should have better production than what we have seen so far. We have to lean on a run game more to be productive in games rather than a qb we traded up to no.1 for. You can easily draft a more talented QB on a cheaper contract and get the same results bryce has given you so far. Thats the truth.
    • I will go out on a limb and say this was the biggest win since 06.
