Just because we as fans haven't heard anything, doesn't mean it hasn't happened behind the scenes . I'm not saying he did, I'm saying... Maybe the dude is staying here and just didn't wanna go to the interview lol

Well for the moment, it looks like he is staying here, but it doesn't appear to be by choice.

He got his ass handed to him by the Falcons and Saints so I couldn't give a poo if he leaves.

Upgrades at corner would make this defense damn near unstoppable.  Wilks' knows what he's doing,  but he can't turn water into wine.

I'm not so sure the problem is with players ability as much as it was the change in approach.   I think he got too aggressive too soon into his install of his strategic approach and he put his players in bad situations unnecessarily.  Samples size is too small to judge accurately.  Next season should be a better indicator of his ability since the players will have had a full season in his scheme.

There is one other factor to consider.

Last year, the secondary guys had Wilks as their position coach.

This year, they had a fairly inexperienced Curtis Fuller and Richard Rodgers.

I still support the decision to elevate Wilks to DC, but I do find myself wondering if we could have done a better job of backfilling.

Maybe.  There's a lot of variables at play here and it would be foolish think that the players are solely to blame.  Lots of changes took place and with change there is always and adjustment period.

Per one of the Giants beat reporters, Gettleman wanted him. Ownership didn't.

The GM does the hiring, no? I’m pretty sure the Giants will be looking for a seasoned guy that stabilize things.

As for Wilks, the jury is still out on his coaching abilities, tbh, the defense looked confused at times. I’ve never seen Luke so frustrated over coverage busts.
