Im a fan of “old movies” but I will admit, can’t think of many pre 1940.

Pulp Fiction also lost to Forest Gump.  To be honest I feel like there is unfair backlash to this day against Gump because, while good, it defeated two of the most beloved films of all-time.  I know a decent number of people that hate that movie and invariably at least one of the other two is in their top ten.

I do like the other two films better than Gump, personally I'd put them above it, but I understand why people liked Gump.

Gump had a killer soundtrack tho

Braveheart is 98% fiction.  I'm okay with artistic licences, but that movie completely distorted history.
