Smitty and Keyshawn

Let's not forget how bad Keyshawn was when he was here. Jarrett, in comparison, was well about the same.

He wasn't that bad as a number 2 with 815 yards and 4 tds. It wasn't terrible for a slow guy slowing down even more at the end of his career with Chris Weinkie starting 3 games.

Bad? Dude had 800 yards and 4 TD on 70 catches. Johnson was far from bad, in fact he was pretty good if not for the reason because we had poo for #2 WRs after Moose left.

Not bad, glad darrin is not scared to share. Also shocked Meshawn didnt get a black eye.

Didn't fit Smitty's M.O.  As much as I loved him as a player, dude was a bully and only went after guys he knew he could take like Lucas and Bright.  Also, in both cases, he essentially attacked them when they either didn't see it coming or didn't expect it.

Steve went after everyone.

People that say Keyshawn was bad here always boggles my mind and I'm not sure they actually were watching that season?   Dude was a good #2, probably one of our best ones we've had (considering most of Smith's career after Moose we couldn't find one).    The issue is Steve Smith and his inability to work with anyone.

Oh there was so much more than a stat line. He would quit on routes (one particular game losing effort if I recall), was kind of a locker room boor, and was a disappointment to everyone that wasn't him. Just another dude taking a victory lap at a team's expense.

The guy was so beloved by the team's players and staff, they picked his replacement in the upcoming draft where he talked Jarrett up (especially how he was going to mold him and teach him) then cut Keyshawn from the team just three days later. Just about literally carried him to the curb with the recycling for trash pick up day.

I largely agree, but oddly enough one of the few guys Smitty did work well with was the best #2 WR we ever had - Moose.

Moose didn't have an overinflated opinion of himself.

With Keyshawn, I'm not sure it was even physically possible for somebody to be as good a player as he thought he was.
