He's actually younger than Beane as well. Beane is just a hair younger than Rhule.

And while Beane's done a good job in Buffalo, he didn't previously have anything close to as good a football resume as Peters has now.

The 49ers picked Kittle in the fifth round last year. After Jimmy Garoppolo took over as quarterback, Kittle led all NFL tight ends — including New England’s Rob Gronkowski — in yards per route run, an advanced receiving metric from Pro Football Focus.

(Peters says these types of analytics play a role in front-office evaluations, as noticeable divergences from any average encourage the 49ers to re-watch film of players and catch attributes they might have missed on first viewing.)

What's the rule for interviewing GMs?  It's not the same a coaches, correct.  They can interview during the season or do they have to wait until that team is done with the season?

Tepper has said no, and from what I understand it's correct. They can't interview GM candidates that are currently employed until the season is over.

The people who are getting interviewed now are those that are free agents.

From what I've read , Peters is the guy I am most hoping for.

I knew they couldn't do it on coaches I wasn't sure on the others.

I have to assume the team is going to read your writeups Scot. They're "data and analytics driven" and you've given them some data to chew on. If they aren't reading them, they are willingly ignoring good info!

I’d prefer Ireland but the homer in me wants Dan Morgan. I think Ireland should be the shoe in for the Rhule connection and his success with helping draft players that contribute no matter the round chosen with the Saints.

Ireland probably would have been my choice too, as well as my prediction, and he could still get the job easily.

But with all that said, the more I read about Adam Peters the better he sounds.
