Very fair, and it's hard to defend Ron here because playing the better player too late is the Rivera special.

Umm no.the higher-ups wouldn't hear of turning down Lawrence even if he recruited fields. Generational talents don't grow on trees. And there's argument to be made that fields is no longer the number 2 qb.

As much as I want a QB it would be sick to double down on defense again and just have a hellacious defense. 

Would be stupid fun if we just lucked into a Russel Wilson , Dak Prescott, or Tom Brady and used everything else on key positions

If not then it could be anyone . I have a feeling the Panthers are trying to do a wholesale rebuild and dont want to trade the farm for a QB

Getting Surtain II or Micah Parsons would be a nice consolation prize and hope Lance Trask or Jones plummets to our 2nd or 3rd round picks. 

Lance or Wilson will 100% be there at 8, probably Lance due to recency bias with Wilson, but I do not see all 4 QBs going in the top 7. Lawrence is 1st overall and no chance Fields drops to 8, but I'm confident at least 1 of Lance or Wilson will be there for us at 8 if we stay there. If we want to go for Fields or ensure that we get "our guy" between Lance/Wilson then we'd have to trade up but if we're fine taking what's left at 8 then I still think we're in great shape to get a franchise QB prospect.

It's unlikely but it's the Jags

I think Myers is gonna fugin Tank in the NFL but if the Jags are stupid enough to buy into him then they might be stupid enough to pass on TL for Fields.

The thing is this is a weak secondary draft and we're pretty good on rushers. Parsons I guess? But ehhhh.

The worst part about falling from 3 to 8 is we miss out on the opportunity for Chase or Sewell.

Theres almost always at least one big name qb that drops way further than expected  often way beyond pick 8. Just a question of who .

Sometimes teams at the top will be scrambling to draft the medicore qbs at the top and the good ones drop . Who knows what might happen .

Didn't the bears take Trubisky at 2 or something? And they traded up for him . Stranger things have happened .

The main thing is we don't know whose going to be successful and who isn't . Something that irks me is when people just write off dudes before they take a snap in the nfl 

I'm pretty sure slot of people were afraid Herbert and Josh Allen and they ended up being pretty damn good .
