Wasn't there something about Atlanta bluffing Marty into giving Charles Johnson a huge contract extension?

Yep, it happened.  Johnson was set to sign with them and then Marty sweetened the offer.  Now I'm not sure it was more than what the Falcon's were offering (I don't think it was) but it certainly was more than the offer the Panthers had on the table at the time.

Between this board and twitter, y'all are something else.

They guy had a decent job, and got a better offer...so he took the gig....in Carolina.

Now he has a good job, but a better offer could be coming down the pike...elsewhere.

Why the hell would you not blame a player for it being a "business" but you are holding it against a coach?

Don't see anyone holding it against him. Just see people shocked he's getting the attention. People were shocked he got the coordinator job last year.

I think people are shocked anyone would hire him...  more power to him.

There are plenty of former Panthers out there getting grief non-stop from this crowd because they took a better offer somewhere else. Even after it was suggested on this site by members they should take a "cap-friendly pay cut."
