For the record, both of the interviewees who have since removed themselves from the search were personnel guys.

The GM "search" from 2018 was such a farce in comparison. 

This tells me they are doing their due-diligence and taking their time looking for the right guy to turn it all around. 

I was worried that they had THE guy that they wanted to interview but just couldn't due to that guy still being stuck in the playoffs but the fact that they went ahead and interviewed two more legitimate candidates say they really are kicking all the tires out there.

Hopefully we find something out this week.

I want Poles as assistant GM regardless of who else we hire. There are several guys who could be “GM” that I’d be happy with, though still holding out hope for Colbert.

I've long believed that role would go to Pat Stewart.

Hiring candidates for a position that you didn't actually interview them for is a little tricky. Other teams could likely block that sort of thing if they wanted to.

So much This. We are doing homework and not putting on a show. We didn’t hire a firm to give us a set list which kinda makes me happier.

That the list of interviewees has reached 15 indicates Tepper has a very well-defined box/job-description for which he is going about finding the exact right guy to fit within said box.

Makes perfect sense.

The model/system is in place, need to find the right cog/part-number to complete the engine.
