Precisely.  Anyone with a brain can look at our draft capital and roster and see this is a pipe dream.

What is this all about, draft capital?  Yes the other teams have better capital this year, but that's not anything that simply outbidding them with additional years of firsts and seconds can't solve

Yeah they are always over the cap and still get people, please tell me how they do that.

The Saints know they only had one shot to get another Super Bowl, and that was with Brees. They have repeatedly renegotiated Brees contract and kicked it down the road. Furthermore, the other shoe has dropped and they have to pay his bloated salary.  Brees retiring will save them roughly $13M, but that's still a big mole hill (see what I did?) to overcome. The Aints have 21 players hitting free agency.

They will have to cut, renegotiate, and lose some of their top tier players in order to be under the cap while having minimal funds to pay any future QB (Winston?) or live with Taysom Hill.

Like I posted in another thread... Saints are almost $100M over the cap. They literally would have to trade away about 8 top paid players to the Texans then negotiate Watson's salary before even going under the cap.

Yeah, some of the teams people are talking about being involved are almost impossible. People are ignoring the salary cap situations of those respective franchises.

People need to remember this is going to boil down to(if it even happens):

1. Where Watson is willing to go(he has veto power).

2. What the Texans are willing to accept in a trade.

3. What teams are willing AND able to give up to get him IF they even want him.

That's pretty much it.

You think he's going to come here and exchange for us trading away one of his best weapons or one of our best defenders?

The Dolphins and Jets have way more capital than we do.

I don't know. We'll see. It's worth the conversation. Sitting back and just accepting our suckage is the easy way out.

Draft capital is how you build a team and when he sees we have none why would he come here?

Why would we be a possible destination for him?  Because he played at Clemson?  He is going to look at our roster, oline in particular and see hell no I am not going through that again

Well there are 31 possible destinations for him. We are probably on a shorter list, due to our need for a QB. So, that probably puts us into about a 10 team category.

Other than that, we have no idea what he does or doesn't want for his next franchise. That we have to speculate on or wait to hear.

this was shared earlier this week on the huddle in another thread. There is a list that has already being discussed by people within Watson's group. It was the same site the reported that watson wanted out weeks before the official word.

1. MIA
2. CAR
3. SF

4. Mystery team

It came from the same site that gave us this gem:

Joe Brady is leaving

It's basically just one of those places that retweets pretty much anything they see and makes it look like it's their own.

(and they're not necessarily all that discriminating in what they post)

After getting the poo kicked out of him for the better part of his short career I can pretty much be certain he doesnt want to go to a team with a bum center as the only lineman signed for 2021 and with no draft picks or cap space to address it.
