After looking at Remmers protecting Mahomes, we owe Cam an apology

Idk how remmers is still in the nfl, as a de you can get whatever you want against him

Because there are no tackle reserves in the NFL. Think about how long even Byron Bell hung around after being cut. It's a real lack of talent, so damn near anyone with ''tackle experience'' is considered for a roster.

It's why I can see the trade up for Little, maybe he has busted but he had high grades from pretty much all scouting sources, and the thing is if he'd worked out that's a solid tackle on a rookie deal. We haven't HAD the cap to pay a upper tier T, so that was the only move we had, and the guy Buffalo got is a pure RT, not a left.

IMO, we should have taken Ford, and moved Moton to LT as he played that in college as well. It's why we traded for Okung, one to get away from Trai's 2 remaining years versus Okung's 1 remaining year opening more cap sooner, and he was actually a quality LT. He was just injured all damn year.

This is why I'm against trading the farm for Watson, and losing Moton in the process. If Mahomes can't work behind that line, do we really want to see Watson behind it's twin? I watched Cam get murdered enough. I want Watson or a guy like him, but not if it fugs us for 3 years and I have to watch our most valuable amd exciting player get killed fod it.

THIS should get pinned to the top of EVERY future thread about an incoming QB!!!

I wonder what Cam was saying during this SB watching Remmers and the OL look like that? I know that brought back horrible memories.

Watching Mahomes run for his life, I was definitely getting SB 50 flashbacks.

it's so incredibly far beyond obvious you don't want watson, just in case you thought you were being slickly objective

I'd be happy with Watson, but I think what we'd have to give up to acquire him would basically turn us into the same team he's trying to get away from.

Don't believe the Texans are going to trade him anyway, though.

I don't think the Texans have much of a choice about trading him. They are just too dumb to realize it at the moment.

Yep. OT quality and depth is at an all-time low IMO. Coaches want all the elite jumbo athletes playing defense. For the most part, you only end up on the OL after they figure out that you aren't athletic enough to hack it on the DL.

Houston’s still got a problem. Where are we? Just where we told you we were last week. Deshaun Watson’s not returning calls from new GM Nick Caserio or new coach David Culley. The Texans are giving other teams that call them a hard no. And round and round we go. Caserio in particular is really between a rock and a hard place on this one. Neither outcome is particularly great. Either …

1) He trades Watson, establishes that a superstar can shoot his way out of town right off the bat and makes Houston the NFL’s version of Elba even more so than it is now. Yes, he could get a nice return. Yes, maybe that’s the second or third pick and his QB of the future. But acquiescing in a situation like this is a tough Ground Zero for any new brass to start on.

2) He hangs onto Watson, and Watson holds firm—which creates an incredibly difficult environment for Culley to try and establish his program under. Maybe Watson winds up reporting in the summer. Maybe not. But there are six months between now and then to navigate for a coaching staff trying to get to know the roster and get that roster to buy into what they’re doing.

Of course, the best-case scenario for Caserio and Culley is that Watson eventually agrees to meet with them, separate from owner Cal McNair and EVP Jack Easterby, and those guys can establish relationships with their quarterback. The problem with that? I don’t know that even that sort of meeting would solve much, since Watson’s issue is with McNair and Easterby. Which means that might have to be fixed first. And I don’t know that it can be fixed.

My biggest question in all this: What the hell does Jack Easterby bring to the table that you're willing to hold on to him amidst all this?

It seems to me like an obvious first step toward reaching out to Watson would be firing Easterby, yet the Texans show no inclination toward doing that.

McNair is clearly a buffoon. The rumors of Watt wanting out to make this more complicated because now you are looking at a situation where your two leaders on offense and defense want to jump ship.

If I am the Texans, I get these deals done ASAP and field every offer. Right now the market is nuclear hot and dragging your feet is just likely to get you less and less on the open market for either of these guys.

I expect the Texans will drag this out until after the draft and then end up having to deal with whatever teams didn't address the QB position. That isn't a spot I would want to be in.

A trade can't become official for another month. There's no rush on Houston's part. They can take the next five weeks to continue to try to smooth things over with Watson. It isn't like they're going to have any difficulties drumming up a trade market for him if/when they decide to do it.

Yes but there is a flurry of interest over guys like Carr, Wentz and Darnold. Those are all potential suitors for Deshaun Watson. Why be late to the party and miss out on maximizing the value?
