I love him to death. But, I hope we don't bring Eric Staal back.

Agree...I have nightmares that I’ll flip on NHL Network and see something crazy like “Breaking News:  The Carolina Hurricanes trade Sebastian Aho and a second round pick to Buffalo for Eric Staal...” 😲

A month later and still a month away from the deadline (lmao @ thread title) have things changed?

Has the emergence of Bean/Fleury and Paccetti's added physicality made Dougie expendable or do we keep him as an in house rental?

Do/can we trade Reimer with Dan Levy's brother playing at such a high level?

Any way we can package Dougie/Reims with one of our forwards also on expiring contracts for a younger top 3 guy?

If we really trying to win the cup then we need to keep Dougie.

As much as I would love to see Eric back in a Canes uniform who the hell would we have to take off the roster in order for him to play? It's not that we couldn't offer an up and coming prospect but I'm not comfortable sitting Lorentz, Foegele, McGinn, Geekie they are all worth more tha Eric at this point.

"Eric Staal was traded to the Montreal Canadiens by the Buffalo Sabres on Friday for a third-round and a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.

Staal is in the final season of a two-year, $6.5 million contract ($3.25 million average annual value) he signed with the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 25, 2019 and can become an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Sabres will retain $1.625 million of the forward's salary."

"Carolina Hurricanes: Get Kyle Palmieri: The Hurricanes are sneaky here. They have picks and prospects to trade, they have cap room, and they’re really good. They are also perhaps just a piece or two away from being downright scary, even in a division with the Lightning. Why not go out and get Kyle Palmieri? It might just put them over."

If McGinn is out for any extended amount of time, plus the TT situation. Which forward would you all want before Monday?

Honestly if they want to move him this would be a win-win option with how he's preformed this year.

"Alex Iafallo, Kings (27 years old/ UFA this summer/ $2.425 million salary cap hit): Iafallo is a very good “middle six” player that could play on any team’s second-or third line and make a positive impact. Could the Kings re-sign him before he reaches the open market? Or could they get enough in return in an NHL trade deadline deal that makes a move worth it?"

I doubt they want to move him though.

"Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac were traded to the New York Islanders by the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday.

New Jersey receives forwards A.J. Greer and Mason Jobst, a first-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft."

Hes off the board.

https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/ducks_listening_to_trade_proposals_on_defenseman_josh_manson/s1_16454_34569980

Pierre LeBrun reports during a recent TSN Insider Trading segment that, as hesitant as the Anaheim Ducks are to move Josh Manson, the team is listening to offers on the player ahead of the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline. LeBrun notes, considering the Ducks season and where they are at in the standings, if a good offer is presented, they will take it seriously.

This is interesting because teams are looking for a right-shot defenseman ahead of the trade deadline and with clubs not out of the playoff picture yet, some of the bigger names may not be moving. David Savard is a name that gets a lot of attention now, not only because he’s a viable top-four d-man on most teams, but because he’s one of only a handful of good options available. If Manson gets added to the list, it changes things.

The Canes are looking for a right-shot defenseman. At a decent price. This may be the guy.
