I agree giving up Burns or Brown is dumb.  But I think 3 1sts and CMC is a great deal, especially when you consider the 1st this year will likely be used on a QB no matter what.  That pick is a wash IMO.  And while I LOVE McCaffrey and consider him extremely valuable (I have his jersey and will always love it) he's worth throwing in there considering he's no longer on a rookie contract.  

I'd have no problem with 3 1sts and McCaffrey, that's fair value I think. But I do fear that Houston will demand more, and be able to get more, for him.

If I wasn't worried about his durability, I'd probably be all in based on his skill set.

Howell and Wilson are really close for me. However, I don't even have Howell as number 1 next year, I like Rattler better.

There has never, ever been a star player who demanded a trade and it didn't happen.

At the end of the day, the game is the game, and the locker-room is the locker-room.  When your best player vocally wants out, it creates an EXTREMELY toxic environment.  Coaches don't want to deal with it.  Teammates don't want to deal with it.  I 100% guarantee you Culley would rather move on from the situation.  It is a McNair/Easterby move to "keep him," which I don't think they will stick with a few months from now.

Really the only way Watson stays is if he changes his mind.  And what are the Texans gonna be able to do to change that?  They don't have a lot of cap space and no good draft picks. 

They might wait to do it.  But I'm 99.9% sure it will happen.  It always happens.  It just isn't worth it at the end of the day, because for as good as Watson is, you aren't gonna have team-success when your best player is PO'd and not fully committed.

Doubt it because I see Rhule as a stand up guy who want make stupid promises to put himself in that position.

Yeah, if the rumors are true the Texans absolutely committed self inflicted wounds. You can't tell a guy he's going to be involved in something then shut him out of it and assume he's gonna be okay with that.

Sure there has, and it wasn't that long ago.

Earl Thomas demanded to be traded and the Seahawks said no. Also remember a receiver (Chad Johnson maybe) asking to be traded the Cowboys and not getting it.

Go back a few years further, and there was Lance Briggs who was headed for a messy divorce with the Bears. Nobody believed that situation would resolve itself, yet it did.

Whether the Texans would be wise to give in on this is worthy of debate, but at least for the moment they're pretty well dug in.

Where is this rhetoric coming from?

It is confirmed that the owner took DW to dinner and solicited his opinion/s on a variety of things --- DW was allowed to provide input.

The team is not obligated to conduct business in a manner DW deems to be proper...

...but DW is obligated to live up to the terms of his contract with the Texans, hurt feelings or otherwise. 

The truth of this situation has been blown so far out of proportion it's really kind of amazing.

Yeah, a comment made before he ever had tge chance to get into the locker room and evaluate anything. Did Cam sign a new contract with promises made to him? Making promises to your star player after you traded his top weapon just to get his contract signed, not the same.

LT's and CB's are getting traded for 2 or 3 firsts these days.  What do you think the true value of a young, elite, franchise QB really is?
