“In his mvp season he had funchess, Benjamin and olsen. A bunch of receivers with big wingspans who could bail him out”. This random nobody loses all credibility there. A) he didn’t have Benjamin that year. B) cam had never been regularly bailed out by a receiver in his career.

This rando obviously has no clue. He was also highlighting plays where cam intentionally led the guy low, a common tactic to give defenders no play on the ball.

The entire breakdown is cringe, he references a clean pocket throw from cam years ago to a throw where there’s a defender coming straight down the barrel at him, while completing the pass, bad argument all around

Pretty dumb to mention teams not signing Cam without mentioning the unprecedented nature of Covid-19 eliminating any chance to test and evaluate a player in person, especially because Cam was coming off two lost seasons due to injury.

Basically no one had any idea how healthy he was. After two games in to last season it looked like MVP Cam was back. Then he got Covid, Edelman got hurt, maybe his shoulder acted up again, but it was all downhill from there.

Tepper was making non-committal comments regarding Cam from the moment he bought the team.

I know he mentions Tepper in his comments, but part of me wonders if the intimidation thing wasn't necessarily about him.

Remember a while back Igo was saying that Rivera and Hurney were basically afraid to say anything negative to Newton? That was a big reason why the stories were coming out about Ken Dorsey not being a true quarterback coach.

That'd definitely qualify as being "intimidated".

yep, set Olsen to the side

and Ted Ginn Jr lead the team in yards and TDs.  Cotchery and Philly were right there with Funchess in terms of production.  Cam definitely wasn't leaning on big WRs.

Yes, he had a lackluster crew up there, but lets not act like he was throwing to a bunch of Jerry Rice's down here.

While he shoulder may or may not be toast, is he someone who you'd want to commit $100 million to?

not 100 million.   but all 32 starting QBs don't get that.

if I had an iffy QB situation I'd bring Cam in on a 2-3 year deal.  Like a Denver, Washington, Chicago, etc.  Let him compete.  Will be a good locker room guy regardless of how it pans out.  If someone does beat him out Cam would drive that dude.

I don't think you can pay Cam to be your QB going forward.  Line up the 32 starting QBs in the NFL this year.  He is still IMO better than many at the bottom.   And there are 32 backups in the NFL and most of them had better deals than Cam last year.
