Breer elaborates on the contract terms...

According to Florio, Newton ended up earning about 3.7 million of that potential 7.5 million last season.

Sounds like "worth up to 14 million" might be a more accurate description.

It is nice to see him still playing in the league we need more athletes like him for newer generations to learn from. But that arm is not the same and there is no point pretending just soak in the joy of however much time he has left because he makes the nfl more fun and it will be a sad day when he finally hangs it up.
