Melo is carrying a team into the playoff/top-6 seed as a rookie.  Melo easy. 

He's also single-handedly going to make a star want to come over to the QC to play with him (we can hope haha)

Man it's close, but as of right now I have to go with Melo. Melo may legit get the Hornets in the playoffs when most of us though if they do make it, it would be an 8th seed at best. Hornets could legit end up a top 4 seed.

It’s close. Melo because he’s leading his team to the playoffs in his rookie season. Cam because he had insane stats for a rookie.

football and basketball comparisons are just so weird.  Just easier to impact a game as a basketball player.

Ohh this is tough. Good question OP. I think I would go with Melo. Not sure Melo has the best player in the league/MVP upside Cam had, but perhaps he does.

I've only just started watching the NBA again, mostly because of melo.

It's not a Hornets issue it's what's happened to the game. The soccer-style flopping is just out of control. Hell, if I wasn't such a huge UNC fan I'd be done with basketball altogether. I very rarely watch a basketball game that doesn't involve UNC.  That's a big change for me. Growing up, basketball was hands down my favorite sport, both as a participant and as a fan.

The league's fuged up soft cap and max contract issue further screws up the league. Even if the game hadn't evolved into something I don't particularly care for, I probably wouldn't be much of an NBA fan these days because it basically turned into MLB.
