- The cheapest non-General Admission season ticket costs $980 per seat, which is higher than every other MLS franchise and higher than the most expensive options at 17 of the 20 Premier League clubs in Europe.

- The GA/Supporters Section tickets cost $27 per match, also one of the highest in Major League Soccer.

- Tepper engineered the MLS' first-ever PSL campaign, forcing ticket buyers to foot the bill for his expansion fee.

- In addition to the costs listed above, every season ticket purchase includes a $50 fee which is promised to cover the costs to "improve the fan experience" with things like smoke, signage, etc.

- The squad, limited as it is now, does not reflect the prices the fans will pay.

- Lastly, it's worth noting that at a free MLS NEXT match among Charlotte FC and Atlanta United academy teams last October at BOA, roughly 500 fans showed up (it was not a good look for the optics re: demand, far before the exorbitant ticket prices)

The fee to make sure Tepper doesn't spend a dime on the Charlotte FC fan experience takes me back to Snyder's halcyon days of engineering ticket prices for Redskins training camp.

You all are free to think Tepper is the GOAT all you like, obviously. But I remain to be convinced that Charlotte FC won't be the MLS' answer to the MLB's Seattle Pilots.

Thanks for the info! And yeah, that's not good.

As long as Marty Hurney remained in charge, we were basically still living under Jerry Richardson.

I see this year as the first true season under David Tepper.

Yeah I don’t know about that. Tepper is the CEO. If he doesn’t have the right people in place to have a winning team that is on him. That is how businesses work...no excuses.

Dunno. He just put his regimen in place. Still hasn’t replaced key pieces that were lost yet.

In a lot of ways this was year 1.

His biggest issue so far was holding onto Hurney.

He also should have cut ties with Ron earlier.

Laslty, probably should’ve started scoping out a QB earlier than he did.

Those are really the only things that he was slow on and held everything back as much as it did.

There were also retirements out of his control.

And cap issues, which are still a problem until next year and beyond. But that’s his fault keeping Hurney.

Needs more time. While clearly some huddlers have never in their life experiences growing plains and a learning curve, most people know that is what it appears to be at this point.

They haven’t won a Super Bowl since he bought the team, so that makes him one of the worst owners in the league.

Or so goes the logic of some.

Let’s put it this way: you are an investor with shares of stock in a company.  A normal investor, who does not own enough shares to influence things one bit, but your shares represent a fair chunk of change to you.  The company hit some peaks, but now looks like it is struggling to remain relevant in a changing market.  The management keeps trying to add a widget or two to the product line, but the performance, and thus your share value, keeps declining.  Not a steep decline and not without some ups, but overall, the trend is somewhere between stagnation and downward.

They can the CEO, and the new CEO lays out a long-term plan for success.  He starts making high level moves that look conducive to his plan.  He does not fire the COO or CFO right away, but after giving them a chance to adjust to the new atmosphere and not seeing any promise, he does.  He hires a dynamic young CEO and a CFO that has been around the block at least once.  They completely revamp the product line, a process that is is not finished yet.

Do you sell your shares because the bottom line has not improved yet, or do you stay the course seeing a pattern, or do you buy more because you not only see the pattern, you like it, believe it will lead to a promising future, and thus feel the shares are a bargain right now?

Sell the stock while the new CEO fires production workers and farms things out to cheaper overseas countries to boost the stock as a short term fix and earn himself/herself a huge bonus.

So far his meddling was done with Ron and is hopefully over. He has shown zero useful football IQ other than we need a good QB and he wants to win. If this is a worst case scenario, it could take him some time to figure out how to hire and manage good football people.

Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Isn't the push for Watson and moving on from Teddy meddling on Tepper's part? Even if they have changed course and decided to draft a QB, odds are they will overpay to move up to get one of the big four, which would be a result of the owner's meddling. Whatever picks they give up to move up might be better spent on adding more cheap, young talent to the team since they are still years away from competing for a championship.

Trust the wrong people to do the job, you're Jerry Richardson.

Meddle in football affairs when you have the least football knowledge of anybody in the room, you're Jerry Jones.

Tepper has done both, but he's also realized his mistakes. He has since hired different football people and vowed to let those football people do their jobs.

That's why for me, this is Year One, and I'm going forward with the hope that Tepper in the future won't be a Jerry.

He was also vocal about GMs with analitics skills but he backed down for the hire. Also we don't know how much and to what extent he exerted himself with Watson. Basically, what he said boils down to 'let's do it, I am in on that move' and not 'go do this move'. If he steps over that line then we have an idiot owner on our hands. The fact he is close to that line is concerning.

Meddling is hard to confirm right now because of the power structure with the GM and HC thrown in to a way too small list of facts. Also, meddling and creating pressure to address issues that any owner of any business are two different things, that's just being involved and getting permission to spend large lumps of his cash. After last year we all knew we needed a QB and by him coming out and supporting a move that allows the staff to proceed on moving away from the millions tied up in Teddy. That's involved, I would say meddling is exerting himself in micro-decisions where he isn't qualified to have much input and has hired experts to do those duties.

So who, exactly, was signing those checks that Hurney was cashing the last 2 years?

Stumpy nailed it.

Hurney wasn't in charge of anything under either owner!
