full quote on McGinn.

He's the guy Tripp is always raving about his pain threshold. I think he got hit in the middle of the ice, not against the boards.

That being said, I am very happy the Canes didn't let themselves get pushed around. They went hit for hit and Blake Comeau is a dirty fugging player. There are other refs who would have whistled him a couple times last night.

Florida is going to be a little more physical as well, seeing what happened last night.

It was an open ice hit right near the red line. Dude basically punched him in the ear with a hockey stick in his hands while skating at full speed.

Lucas Wallmark was waived by Chicago today, I'd definitely consider bringing him back now to slot in for McGinn while he's out and upgrade 4C going forward.

I don't know if he would upgrade the 4th line at this point. But, I would not hate to see us add a little more grit at this point in the season.

Dons big talking point lately is a right shot defenseman. Unfortunately that’s a heavily sought commodity at this point. If McGinn is out for a length of time though I do agree we may have to consider a rental forward too if TT will be out for the rest of season.

Would like to have Joel Edmundson on the roster right about now. I'd line him up with Fleury.

We may never see TT play hockey again if his concussion symptoms continue.

Reimer still a trade option?

Here is the latest on trades from Waddell.

    • Very good points.  I also think you reach an age where your enthusiasm wanes, you quit learning and start relying on experience, and you lose touch with the younger generations of players--it happens.  And you are right about Bryce.  He is frustrated and he took a ton of heat--I can't imagine where he was mentally, but I have some idea.   Bryce is very smart-he needs to beat teams with his mind more than his arm.  He could not play chess when everyone around him was a confused pawn.  This season, he will use more motion to tip coverages and he will use more pre-snap reads.  Than means he should not be breaking the huddle with 12 seconds on the play clock and rushing to get the play off--there are so many things that can impact a QB's play, and there are many signs that he was provided the least possible chance to succeed.  In my view, this is his rookie season.  Last year was a fire drill.
    • I also find it curious we decided to practice at home instead of up in NY… not sure I would have made that decision. Need a feel for the ice and boards. Maybe we’ll do a very limited morning skate tomorrow.
    • It really was crazy. The NFL hype on him was nuts. And I think for our FO, we basically outsmarted ourselves. Some of that has to do with Tepper going against the grain and wanting show how much of a genius he is. Stroud should have been the guy. I thought it might end up being an NFL horror story of sending an undersized kid to get crushed as first overall. I'll give him this though he is tough as nails.  This season will give us a better measure of where he's at, I think. I was hoping he'd come back a little bigger muscle wise though.
