im not quite sure what better moves they could have made on defense.

The Bouye move is going to depend on contract. We're going into next season relying on a lot of players with significant injury histories. That usually ends up predictably. Bouye is coming off of both an injury and a down season while he was on the juice. That's a big red flag. I hope the deal is cheap. Worthwhile gamble if it is.

Reddick played all 16 games last season, and has never missed a game in 4 seasons.

Denzel Perryman.....Reddick has never missed a game in his pro career.

also who cares about money? the cap isn't real

The Reddick signing was great. The rest suspect at best

I really liked the Morgan Fox signing as well, but like you said the rest of them are going to be largely dependent on if these guys can stay healthy/perform at a level they were at or close to before. I'm cautiously optimistic but not ready to start celebrating quite yet.

Whitehead was a miss but we had quite of few additions that surprised us.  I hope we that these additions were not just names but players we targeted.

I've always been an optimistic person.  Fitterer and Rhule hopefully have a plan and these players pan out.

Defensively I think we have added some good pieces.

The draft I still think will be mostly on offense but not completely especially in the latter rounds.

Every year I go in hoping we will be competitive and win and make the playoffs.

Ya never know.

Fox looks positive, not nearly as sexy as Reddick but positive.

The rest is suspect to normal cheap swings at any positives. Still a lot of holes if you do not go by the warm body theory of management.

TE is going to be upgraded some, but we still do not have that weapon we are used to.

[gasps]   Are you kidding me?  We have the TE position well in hand.  “Darnold to Dan Arnold” sounds beautiful, melodious, almost poetic.  It is a thing of beauty.

    • It's true. What have VT and Miami done since they've been in the ACC vs. before they joined the ACC? That was the ACC's big play to become a real player as a football conference. And hell, I ain't even mad about it. Honestly it made all the sense in the world at the time. Those schools made perfect geographical sense for the conference and on paper we're football powerhouses. Unfortunately, they were on the downhill slide. It is what it is. They tried. It didn't work out. Now they're flailing and resorting to trying to add Cal, Stanford, and SMU when those programs are decades removed from being relevant. It's over.
    • Trade Idea: Should Houston Texans Pursue Panthers Defensive Tackle Derrick Brown? Could Derrick Brown go to the Houston Texans in free agency with his rookie contract expiring? https://www.si.com/nfl/texans/news/houston-texans-trade-derrick-brown-carolina-panthers I read this article. Hopefully the front office isn’t crazy enough to even consider something to this extent or hear any nonsense like this. He was the 2nd most tackler last year for the team only behind Luvu who we was unable to re-sign. I haven’t had a lot of second guessing with the three amigos just a couple that I wish we could’ve re-signed.
