Thanks. That doesn’t really surprise me. I don’t think Teddy is the great guy and consummate professional that the media makes him out to be.

Been saying this. There’s zero indication he’s a good leader. Lead his ass to the saints bench to laugh it up with our arch rivals. Can’t even get invited to offseason throwing sessions. Guys choose Grier over teddy.

In the pantheon of poo that matters whether Bridgewater reached out to Darnold unprompted (or at all unless he was told to by his employer and just didn't do so) is firmly in "who gives a damn" land.  Petty?  Sure.  Impactful?  No.   At all significant evidence that Bridgewater is a or b type of person / employee / player / QB / dude...minimally at most.

So to summarize:  who cares?

When the staff and media spent hours parading the guy as something he’s not (shocker, never any evidence that he was a great leader), it kindve is a big deal. Ask yourself why the team felt the need to go so overboard with their promotion of teddy? It’s almost like they knew he sucked and had just cut the only mvp In team history (who was also a proven leader and great teammate).

Yeah, if my employer basically said they were severing me and gave me a working couple months of notice, I’d likely be the same way.  Just do the bare minimum of what’s asked.  Not going out of my way.   My thoughts are on MY future not my ex-employer. I can still be professional in this mindset.

And no one would call you a great leader. All this does is speak to your character. Checking out would just cause more problems for your current coworkers whom you clearly don’t give a poo about. Good for you

Thanks!  I actually have multiple linked in reviews from subordinates that think I am a great leader. In fact, one said I was the best manager he’s ever had because I came to bat for him on multiple occasions. Pm me and I’ll send you my LinkedIn profile.

I’ll happily help my teammates with what they need, but i won’t help “corporate” if “corporate” is severing me. Sometimes the distinction is hard to determine, but it can be made on a case by case ask.

Even if the answer you provided to your own question (and the motivation thereof) is 100% accurate (possible I suppose) and the characterization of their PR / Marketing where Bridgewater is concerned as overboard is correct (which might very well be the case, who the hell am I to judge that, it's not what I do) it still does not matter one bit whether a couple of grown men texted each other.  I'll even concede the points because you can't see relevant from there.

It doesn't matter to the future of the team, or really to the narrative of the last season.  We learned that a guy who is almost certainly on the way out of town as fast as the involved parties can make it happen did something petty and were reminded that NFL teams sometimes lie.  Film at 11.

If you are going to feel bad for anyone it should be the rookies and second or third year players on affordable contracts and the value within to the franchise. They are in there trying to increase their worth and the Panthers are trying to build on that while the young core is still in place. Unfortunately their contributions to the team went to waste with instances like two yard passes on fourth and long so the sob story isn't going to make it far.

If I got paid $40m for 2 yrs it would be hard for me to frown about anything

You've never been paid 40MM and you've never had the pressure that comes with having a job that pays 40MM, so what would you know about it? He didn't win the lottery.

This is the same bad take as seeing someone who's worked their entire life to build a career at something and saying, "must be nice to have all that money..."

Jesus, some of you losers need to grow up!

It's sad/funny how many of you hold these players to a much higher standard than you hold yourselves in virtually every way. Just because they make a lot of money doesn't mean they're not human. None of you would be psyched if your boss put an ad in the paper for someone to replace you, then replace you with another team's question mark employee. Teddy hasn't said or done anything negative, and some of you idiots are acting like he's trying to sabotage Darnold or are maligning his character because he's not rolling out the red carpet for the guy taking his job. In a perfect world they would compete for the starting role, but the team has made it evident that they're moving on, and so we all know that's not going to happen.

Honestly if my company brings in new employees, I very rarely reach out to them.  The people who do seem pretty creepy to me

Especially if they were hired to take your job. These idiots LOVE 'competition' for position when it involves players on their favorite sports team, but completely ignore that in no other field would they welcome their company's management bringing in someone else to do their job. Being composed and using it as a motivator is not the same thing as making a point to reach out to and bring along your replacement.

Yeah he is definitely not a leader as sokemof our former QB's were like Cam or Delhomme and I'm glad to see him make his exit as he just doesn't have it at all. On the other hand though would you personally go out if your way to welcome the new guy taking your spot away if you knew you were going to be out if q job any day at all? Seriously, answer that question with honesty? I don't really care for Teddy as our QB at all but what bisnit you expect him to do? Why would he even give a damn? He is about out the door and is focused on finding his next team to throw 15 td passes in an entire season for and play the most boring conservative ball they have ever seen. Why in the heck would he care about reaching out to anyone else other than helping himself? I just don't get the rationale of him needing to? Sam is a big boy and does not need Teddy's blessing. I don't know how Darnold will be and hoping much better than what his last has shown but I do know Teddy is no leader and I'm just glad he is almost gone.
