For those wondering why fans are skeptical of collecting this many late round picks.

They are skeptical because there’s no way to keep this many rookies on a roster or practice squad without getting picked clean. Also, the rookies selected this late generally will not be NFL level players and even low talent veterans will be better to fill the roster with.

It’s too many rookies to try and develop. They will need to trade these picks for a veteran or for picks next year.

On the flip side, here's our current roster: https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/CAR

I can find 11 guys I'd cut from that without batting an eyelid.

Churning the bottom of the roster.  How many time has Rhule said that?

I mean if you want to argue that late round picks are better than low level veterans.

People seem to think Fit is trying to harvest picks or something. At this level you would think its a little more cerebral than that. Like maybe he considered the value of the trade that was offered compared to what was available and made an informed decision? At least at this level one would hope.

They won’t make all of these picks. At least one, maybe two, will be traded for 2022 capital.

Fill the roster taking more shots having competition.. I swear ppl cried about not doing this before..

Agree. Having competing youth is only going to help. I think this is more Rhule wanting establish his culture on the team.

Nah, both arguments are valid.

There's a strong case for quality over quantity, and vice versa. We'll see how it plays out.

Yep, we won’t know which way works out best for a bit. If our scouting was correct, the guy a top our board may have been the best player left in the draft and a future solid starter. Acting like either way is wrong is silly. I just personally think if we had 2nd round grades on 2 guys, I would have focused on getting both of them this round. If we had 15 2nd round grades left then I’d question our ability to scout and separate guys. Hey, they are doing what they think will work. Will it? Don’t know but it doesn’t mean we didn’t pass on potential starters either.
