1. Fields becomes a franchise QB with Sam flaming out

2. Jones becomes a franchise QB with Sam flaming out

3. Suritan becoming an elite CB and Horn flaming out

4. Slater becoming an elite LT and Christensen flaming out

Could keep going but these are the main ones

This is a frivolous pursuit in self injury. If you havent been tracking this when we missed out on every other good player for the past 20 years, dont start now.

its not just missing out.

it's a big miss. Obvious miss.

for example, no one could blame us for taking Cam in 2011, regardless if he sucked and another QB turned out awesome.

Every player in the draft has a chance of flaming out or being great.

The draft decisions are made by people who are paid well to do what they do. Armchair GMs are not putting nearly the same hours in evaluating the talents, needs, and future plans of the team.

no reason to sharpen your pitchforks and make random comparisons. How many teams passed on Tom Brady?

brady was not thought of as an elite qb coming in the draft.

apples to oranges.

I totally agree but why stop there? The Rams got Jake Funk with the 233rd pick. Not only did we miss him there at 232 when we took Hoskins, but we passed on him 11 times! That is gonna burn big time if he turns out to be an elite level talent. I’m not going to say that we go ahead and fire Fitterer and Rhule over this but it certainly puts them on the hotseat.

We have a higher grade on Darnold than Fields/Jones. Are teams wrong on their grades? Yes, all the time. The team with the most pressure is the Niners. Imagine Lance busting and Fields/Jones playing great after trading 3 first rounders to move up and get him. I personally think he will do great with Shanahan, but they gave up a lot and time will tell...

those misses are acceptable as its a roll of the dice on day 3.

you can't miss on day 1.

You put way too much stock in what others think. The PANTHERS made what the PANTHERS thought were the best moves available to them. Again they have put in the work to craft a draft grade for each player they drafted, and they obviously disagree with this “common” idea that each of the players you listed were the better choice.

It’s not apples to oranges. The simple fact again is that anyone can be great, and anyone can flame out.

And again, why would you be sharpening your pitchforks when all you have invested in it is reading the opinions of media outlets who are paid to vomit their stupid takes all over Twatter.

a pre draft grade goes out the window once a guy plays.

sam could have had a perfect grade, but he has played like pure butt cheeks since being in the NFL.

we talking dead last or near dead last on all QB stats.

he has the talent and potential. but he hasn't come close to utilizing it much less maximizing it
