That doesn't really answer the question tho.  If they change number for 2022, do they continue to sell "22" merch this year? That seems stupid unless they just sell inventory and then not make another "22" jersey for 9 months.  But who is going to buy a full price jersey if they know they are changing next year.

I'm so glad the real meat of this thread went to debates about merch, and far away from crapping on a former player that is no longer with us.

Fanatics is going to keep pumping out whatever number guys are wearing and people are buying.  They aren't going to quit selling jerseys as a favor because someone might want to change a number and doesn't want to buy out all the inventory.

Maybe he's just deciding for next year. Maybe the equipment guys are reserving numbers for guys who want to switch next year when it will not cost them.
