D.J. Moore not a top 32 receiver....

D.J. Moore left off PFF’s list of the NFL’s top 32 wide receivers

The Carolina Panthers should have plenty of bulletin board material going into the 2021 season. Their projected win totals around the ‘net almost all have them finishing below .500, and even some of their most-talented offensive play-makers can’t seem to get any respect.

For example, Pro Football Focus recently put together a list of the top 32 wide receivers in the NFL. A few things stand out, not least of which is Julio Jones coming in at No. 5. What’s even more strange is that the Panthers didn’t get one name on the list, most notably their WR1, D.J. Moore. It’s even more odd considering PFF’s own data shows Moore is one of the league’s best receivers with the ball in his hands. Moore has also become a stud on contested deep throws.

Now entering his fourth year in the league, Moore still flies under the radar in part because he’s quiet and also because he hasn’t scored that many touchdowns – he has 10 so far. Julio could tell you that those numbers are very-much tied into quarterback play, red zone targets and overall offensive efficiency.

In any case, for Moore to miss the list entirely seems like a bit of an oversight. Nobody’s saying Moore should challenge Davante Adams for the top spot. However, at the very least, he should rank ahead of several names at the bottom of PFF’s ranking, including Courtland Sutton, Brandin Cooks, Will Fuller, Tyler Boyd, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods.

This further proves the point some of us have tried to make multiple times on this board. Should he be on this list? Yea...But  outside of our fanbase, nobody and I mean nobody is pounding the table for him being a top 10 WR...this board easily overrates him and it’s not even close

Treash about to work on a side project telling folks about how Jake Paul is an elite boxer

Eh, he ain't a better deep threat than Moss but he's definitely top-5 minimum all-time (strictly talking about his deep threat ability).

EDIT - Assuming he doesn't suffer a terrible injury or anything

Give me a break, there are guys on that list that have not lasted a full season in years. Our number 3 wr just got paid like a #1. There are not 32 WR better than Moore or Robby.

He is the top deep threat today.  Clearly not of all time.

But it highlights how this dude misses some pretty obvious stuff.  I mean it’s Moss and not close at this point.   And won’t be….because Hill can’t grow.

He needs to suffer a terrible injury asap. POS human being who has no reason making millions. Fug him and the chiefs.

BIO

Treash joined PFF full-time back in June of 2019 after being poached out of grad school by the company. He primarily works as a college football analyst but still dabbles in the NFL.

huddle twitter, assemble!

They might want to consider putting him back where they found him.

i don't know about top 10 but not to be considered top 32 is ludicrous. it proves the point that the bias against the panthers is not just in our heads.

It is not a secret that a bias against the Panthers exists. When we make a draft pick, they go to commercial. When we are undefeated, we are the worst undefeated team to ever play the game etc.
