Stanley Cup Playoffs: Round One, Game 3

Stevie Wonder wouldn't have missed that many calls.

Watching last night's game is precisely the reason I don't do social media. I would have spent half the night calling out the refs on the league's Twitter feed or whatever. It was bad enough during regulation, but to go through almost 2 OTs and get progressively worse?  How is that possible?

yeah feels like we are getting b*tch slapped by the NHL doesn't it?

I will say it looks pretty close to a slew foot Staal threw from one angle.

He was also attempting to change directions when the guy tries to open ice check him so he basically just rag dolled the guy, I don’t think if his foot got as high it would have been anything special and I don’t think it was fine worthy to begin with. But ya probably a penalty.

I don’t like how they aren’t posting videos to most of these fines explaining them either now. Cause there’s really only one angle circulating but I remember watching it in real-time and replay it didn’t look nearly as bad as the one angle.

The NHL puts a fine on that play and completely ignores the interference on Staal later, which could have been a penalty shot.

The icing call when Ben Harpur was playing the puck in front of him, looked up for a second to see where he was going with the pass, the puck slides by and gets the whistle. WTF?

But ya I pretty much agree this was the league hitting back for our comments.

Point being, the players don't care if the officiating is good, bad or whatever. They just need to know that it'll be consistent and they'll play the game accordingly.

The issue comes with them toning down their hits from 50 a game to 35 and still getting the same amount of calls. Honestly they should dial it up and go to 60+ and play their game.
