Offseason post: Rivera literally told the media he wasn't changing anything before Superbowl 50

NFL gave that SUPERB OWL to MANNING!!

You can say that, yea the refs let them head hunt Cam during the game, the no catch by Cotchery, but the brunt of the blame lies on MoRon. You don't go up against one of the best Ds in the league and run the same exact thing that was already on film.

McDermott was the only coach on that staff that was worth anything.

Our D did its job, the ST and O poo the bed, mainly because of coaching.

At some point, too, what were RR and the staff going to do to make up for the huge discrepancy in talent on our OL vs. DEN DL .. at some point, regardless of scheme, the better player wins out and our OL was just too bad for how good the DEN DL was

We could have won that game. Broncos attacked cam with cheap/illegal shots and late hits one after another after another after another while the refs looked the other way.

They had to do this because the panthers would have won. Their defense was good, but Cam was better. They had to take him out by whatever means was necessary.

That said there were things that could have been done and adjustments made to offer Can more protection. They could have known that the Broncos ere going to spend time studying everything we do knowing they we rarely deviated from what we did. They didn't have to spy on us like the Patriots did because we didn't do anything differently heading into the game.

We acted like it was just another rather than throwing everything we had into the biggest game if all of their careers. They weren't ready for it. That moment was too big for them because Rivera didn't get them ready. His lack of leadership and apathy towards change cost them a chance to win.

We needed a reset. We needed a leader to get us right mentally. We couldn't depend on Cam because he had his own battle to fight trying to dodge defensive players taking late and dirty hits without consequence. They needed a HC to help them get things right. It wouldn't have taken much, but the job was too much for him.

And this, Panthers fans, is what should haunt your every fan nightmare.  A team with all the markings of a champion undone by the feckless ineptitude and hubris of 1 man.

That man has his ring, I guess ours didn't matter enough.

He’s not entirely wrong. Why change what made us the best team in football? However, they should have had contingency plans and they should have had looks that they had been practicing all season and not shown in games yet. Good coaches can make adjustments when things aren’t working.

There is no way you could convince me that wasn't the worst team we had faced all playoffs. The difference was they had a coaching staff that was far better and the refs decided to swallow their whistles when it came to the Broncos.

This is why I laugh when people say Ron is a good coach
