Rhule see’s Brady Christensen more of a RT or OG than a LT

Charlie Campbell reported that "one team drafting in the top 10 that desperately needed a LT told me that Rashawn Slater can't play LT and they project Slater to be a LG or C in the NFL" (clearly talking about the Panthers as he has an inside source)

Makes me believe this draft was Sewell or bust and they didn't like any LT prospects

Is there some stat that backs this up? I can't see why a LT would have a higher risk of injury than RT...

Those are fair points but I just don't see that much risk in trying to switch. If it does work out and he dominates at the more valuable position that helps him. If not then he can go back to RT. He's not gonna all of a sudden lose those skills there just from switching sides.

Not sure if it's a stat, I never looked it up to confirm, but pretty sure I recall listening to an O Line podcast with our very own Schwartz where he mentioned that there is a higher injury risk due to muscle memory not being the same...said it was normally fine in practice, but not in games.  I could be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure I'm not.

I wouldn't mind getting some reps, but to switch, at his age, with that much experience at RT, including college...I just wouldn't agree to it.

Want to cut that big ole fat contract making me one of the highest paid T's in the league, hell yea I'll do it....on the franchise tag?  F Off.

Agreed.

Sewell, then massive trade back haul while staying in the top 15, then Horn were the choices....it seems.

The massive trade back haul never made it's appearance me thinks.

i don't understand why we aren't bringing in a rental at OT that isn't a straight bum. We have the cap space.

Because it doesn't really exist right now.  Maybe there is a surprise cut, but at this point, with the league starving for good O Linemen, I wouldn't bet on it.

Correct - they never got that type of offer

And Sewell ended up at RT.  We're all nervous about this,  it would be nice to have it settled, but it looks like it is going to be a little while.  Interestingly, as important as this discussion is, Greg Little has been asked about or mentioned.  I thought they would at least ask.

Christensen was rated by the Panthers a 2nd round Guard and a 3rd round LT.  While we need a LT badly it isn't like he won't be filling a need at guard.

Unlike Little who is a bust wherever he plays.  Christensen will be a good guard.

It is still early and the chance of him being LT isn't completely out of the question.  We'll just have to wait and see as things progress.

I think he will be a solid right guard as a rookie , lt will be Erving question is he better than okung ?

No.  Healthy Okung>Healthy Erving.  Both have had their share of IR.  Its why Okung hasn't been picked up.   Erving is injured and couldn't do mini camp, so I guess we'll see how healthy he is training camp.

Hmmm. I disagree with thinking he can not play LT, he'd need to proven that. Sewell is playing RT this season....funny since I once believe he was the best LT in ten yrs derp derpa, then his arm length happened and my want level dropped hard. Still would have picked him tho, but its not the HUUUGGGE miss like months ago feelings.
