5 Timid Predictions for the Carolina Panthers 2021

I predict we will end the season with a victory against the Texans.

or is that too timid?

It feels like that is a safe bet. If we actually lose that game, this place will be a madhouse(rightfully so).

My easiest predictions:

1. At least one thread on why we should have kept Teddy.

2. At least one thread on why we should have drafted Fields.

3. At least one thread about David Newton reporting on Darnold’s updated furniture situation.

4. At least one DJ Moore gets no respect/is underrated thread.

5. At least one we are drafting a LT in 2022 thread.

I think the main steps they took were in relation to depth, IMO. I can't say that we got better on paper across the starting OL. It's possible that the combination of FA signings and draft picks are able to mesh into an above average starting unit but it isn't anything I would bet on before the season.

I just hope however good or bad they are, we can stay healthier. We got a lot of guys in that unit that have suspect injury histories.

Like I said, baby steps.

It is possible the unit could be above average, but expect about the same you saw last year from the OL which is mediocracy (outside of moton).

I expect a few position groups to make a leap this year (CB, TE, DL), but 2022 I expect the team as a whole will take a leap. That may be bold, but rhule is a 3/4 year rebuild coach. That may be at the college level, but I think his system of revamping culture's will do us justice.

My Predictions;

1. Teddy B. will lose his job as starting QB for the Panthers

2. Our LT play will continue to suck and numerous Huddlers will point this out every week (Me Included)

3. We will play one more game than we did last year, even if we don't make the playoffs

4. Darnold will not start all 17 games this year

5. Our TE's will catch more passes than last year

I mean, we could probably start #5 now.....

1. players will have their option of water or a flavored sports beverage to cool themselves when they come off the field.

2. water and tasty sports beverages will be made available to players on the field during a break.

3. towels will be used to wipe sweat off the faces of both active and inactive players

4. sir purr will sweat in his costume

5. at least one top cat will squirt out a juicy sweat fart in the southern heat.

In no particular order:

1. Sam Darnold will be okay. Leaving the door open for drafting a QB in 2022.

2. Teddy will start in Denver and be decidedly average, leaving the door open for Denver drafting a QB in 2022.

3. Denver and Carolina will have a similar W/L record

4. Carolina will win 6-7 games, winning a few early to get the hope up, and then having it stomped away with a tougher 2nd half schedule.

5. Darnold will look better than the record indicates in the 2nd half, after struggling a bit with the offense in the 1st half of the season.

This is a great idea.

CMC will juke defenders.

The Oline will have injuries.

Each sack and interception will generate Huddle "I told you so" posts

David Newton will tweet when Darnold gets the 2nd half of his couch.

Each Sunday I'll be with my son, beer in hand,  watching the Panthers battle.

Darnold will throw at least 1 TD and 1 INT this season.

Shaq Thompson will both make and miss a TFL.

Joey Slye will attempt at least 5 FGs

Offense will punt on 4th down an overwhelming majority of the time.

CMC catches more than 10 passes

“Terrance” Marshall echos thru the huddle for generations.

1. Sam Darnold wins the starting QB job.

2. Horn becomes the week 1 starter

3. Brown with continue to get pressure while demanding double teams in which the Huddle will complain about his sack total.

4. CMC will make the Pro Bowl

5. Trainwreck will lose his poo every time Fields scores a TD, no matter how well Darnold is playing.

6. Sizzle will get a semi if Darnold struggles and use it for trolling material.

@SizzleBuzz, be honest.

You'd troll regardless.   It's how you roll.  😄

Way to go out on a limb there.   🤨

    • Hope Rhule can upset McCarthy, seems to be the ‘youngster vs the veteran’, ‘inexperience vs questionable experience’ kind of matchup.. flip a coin… practice doesn’t make perfect, proper practice makes perfect…. Brady vs Quinn is another tossup, IMO… Quinn has had our number but Brady ain’t Schula, shouldn’t be even close to the same gameplay… Now Phil Snow vs Kellen Moore ? I have serious reservations that Moore, a 6-7yr nfl veteran can outscheme, out call or out coach Snow, ‘old man strength’ in theory… McVey would absolutely be a challenge for Snow, can’t grasp that Moore might be…   So call it -1 for our HC, wash for our OC/ their DC, +3 our DC/ their OC… now it’s on the players, we should have them out coaches… in my biased objective mind, anyway…   need our o-line to play their best game of the season Sunday… yet……
    • Forgot to add- convid rules. I think all new players have to wait 3 days and have 2 negative tests to join team actives(5 for nonvac, but no one thats nonvacc is getting calls). Someone needs to double check this, cause _____   So depending on how/what/where - Monday was trade day. Its either Wednesday/Thursday before he can join the meetings/lift/practice. I know were my chips are......care to place yours?
    • I know nowa days it’s edgy and easy to bitch and point out flaws, but can everyone complaining about PFF please provide your metrics and why it’s valid and then inform us of how the Panthers oline stacks up? I know it’s a lot to ask for substance, but I think it’s important. Also we need metrics with 0 flaws or subjectivity please. Serious request.
