They very well could be the best and men certainly are not "automatically better"...

...but is sounds like you are suggesting a certain number of "trans" folks need to be hired no matter what -- a quota if you will.  My apologies if I misinterpreted that.

Diversity is always better. I mean until you require it unfortunately it doesn't happen. Just like women refs or African American GMs.

So you are advocating for a quota system that isn't based on merit...

...how should that work top-to-bottom within a NFL franchise?

So you're saying minorities shouldn't get a chance because they haven't been giving a chance?

Did you mean to write "given" there?

Was this your intention?:

Oh wow I really got you on that one if you have to stoop to a grammatical error by autocorrect. This just proves you are homophobic and racist. Got to keep those queers and coloreds out of straight white people positions right. Can't have them "taking over" football. 🙄

I didn't like JR, at all.  But he always came across as someone with some belief that he was upholding the pride & ... integrity or whatever of the Carolinas.  Back in 2010, he called a bunch of us fans that wrote angry notes (lol, no joke - I dunno if the archives exist here now but a bunch of us talked about it), and one thing that stood out was he seemed to care MUCH more about appearances than the reality of the team.  His focus when he called me was all about how he was disappointed in how the season looked, not on the fact the roster was fuged.

Even when he was a sleezy motherfuger, I wouldn't be surprised if someone was able to appeal to how this was what was best for the region... while saving him money and embarrassment in case the NFL decided to come down hard on him.

do you dispute his point or just his auto-correct on his phone

the best person for a job should be hired.  but often, the exact best person comes down to subjective decisions where minorities lose out. studies have shown this, the data backs it up, unconscious bias is fuging over minorities from positions they are equally qualified for.

Easy fella!  Just wanted to be certain I understood what you were saying...

You started out with "women/Trans" and then switched to "African American GMs"...

...are there other classes you'd be concerned about protecting?  Anyone on the religious spectrum you want to look after?

How would you propose the jobs should be doled out in a fair manner?

Just clarifying.  Relax, it wasn't a trick.

Agreed.

So what's the solution...quotas?  If so, how would you suggest the quotas be achieved?  In your opinion should said quotas be applied across the organization?

Your favorite study and data source?

This will sound like an excuse for someone being wrong and it really isn't, but none of the rumors of him should probably surprise anyone.

Racist? Maybe not vehemently but we heard some of the rumors. Sexist.....clearly so.

Also.....this dude was born in 1936 in the South. Wouldn't it be kind of surprising if he wasn't racist and generally out of touch with how to react to women in the workplace? Again, that is gonna sound like an excuse but there kind of is a point where I just don't understand why people are mock or real shocked by this. It kind of fits the profile of the era and the place.

I am certainly glad he brought the team to Charlotte, even if he proved to be far from a perfect person. I don't think he was any sort of monster, just an old and out of touch old man, of which there are untold millions of still out in society not too different than he is(minus the obscene wealth).

In a fair manor? How about let's first just get those people interviews. That would be a great start. We are in 2021 and still majority of FO staff for every team is straight white while the rest of the world has progressed. If you want to see good hiring practices there are plenty examples out there.

    • I don't know AVT's run grades.  I don't pay PFF.  Look up you're own stats.  I looked mine up. In the end. It.  Doesn't. Matter.   AVT is not a 62.5.  He isn't.  You can defend PFF and the jets OL all you want.  You will never convince me that AVT is a 62.5 or Fant is playing out of his mind at 69.2 or McCovern is a 68.   No.  No they don't.  He is 48.5 bad, not 62.5 bad.  Someone on that line has to be in the 40s, but amazingly NO ONE IS.  How is this possible?  The worst performing line in the league has all average lineman?     Its 2.6.    I sited my link in the original post, you didn't.  If you click on the underlined words it takes you to the site with stats:   2021 NFL Advanced Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com Sigh.  If PFF puts it on Wilson, then HIS PFF grade should be in the 40s, but its not. A 40's PFF grade is required somewhere on the jets OL or Wilson.  There isn't one. You ask all of these stat questions, which can easily be looked up.   You have provided ZERO links to make your case that the jets OL scores are legit.  Instead you stated a ybc  number but no link to it. Sorry.  At this point you're just making up sht.  I'm done here. Ignore on.  You can rant to the void.
    • Well being a Temple person he knows the system...that's something. I mean a lot of the mistakes you see in the NFL are players out of position or not knowing the scheme well vs specific offenses so it seems to me that we have a good mix of legit talent with other fill ins knowing the scheme so as to not make catastrophic mistakes. We gave up a lot of yards last year but since most of our losses were within 1 score we didn't get blown away and clearly bent more than you'd think rather than break.
    • I've noticed that as well. I think it's been the guys that made significant plays or contributions on the field that day. Seems like a good motivational tool to me.
