What? There must be more of the quote. I haven't seen Nikovich explain that it was anything at all like ADHD, seemed to just be him making up bullshit.

He said he learns different. He had to have a custom book because he might read the playbook at 3am or 6pm when he could focus. That type of learning is definitely a sign of learning difficulty. The NFL doesn't allow medications to treat ADHD so most players unless they have been cleared prior to the NFL can't take medicine for it.

Where did Ninkovich say Cam learns differently?  Ive been trying to find that quote and all I can find is him commenting Jones was teaching Cam the offense and making fewer errors with it.

I'm not arguing if Cam had ADHD or learning difficulties of another type... My point was that's different from what Ninkovich had said.  If he did say that, my mistake.

There's no pass for having ADHD when it comes to professional sports? Should we make excuses for pilots who struggle to learn to fly? Or surgeons?

Not sure what you mean by no pass.  I'm sure a team like the Patriots worked with Cam so that he could learn in the best way for him. If a surgeon gets through school and residency he's going to be pretty fuging competent at his job; if he did so with a significant learning difference, all the more power to him. Same for a pilot. Cam is an NFL player and former MVP. He can play the position and learn a playbook, even if it's not the same way some others do.

Word on the Pro Street, is Newton isn't smart enough to learn the Patriot Offense's Playbook, can't resist dancing/carrying on like a fool to the Hip-hop music played during practice after every snap, and is not vaccinated.

The fact that he was released?

Not exactly a mystery.

I was under the impression "unvaccinated" and "dumbass" were mutually-inclusive conditions?

* checks the groups who are unvaccinated.....

research shows its perfectly ok if they are male rednecks......but if you list one/more groups that are 70+%, you will get called a redneck. statics are racist cause of reasons.....

I agree Cam will be fine regardless...  my reaction was due to multiple factors...  Cam got a raw deal, both here and in New England.  I don't think Mac beat him out or is even a better QB than Cam right now.  And aside from Cam just getting a raw deal, it really feels like Belichick used him and then threw him out like yesterday's garbage.  Also, Mac seems like a douche, I don't care very much for Alabama, and I hated New England prior to Cam being there, so now I'm free to hate them again and hoping they have a horrible season...  so, that's why I hope Mac sucks ass.

And as always, I get a bit in my feelings about Cam because he's had to overcome great odds to get to the point he did while he played for us...  to go from a maligned dropout who ended up playing JUCO, to come all the way back, win a hesiman, a college chip, ROTY, carrying us to a Superbowl, and becoming a league MVP???  That's unreal.  There's teams that have been in the league for decades longer than us and have never had a league MVP.  And yet, through all that, he was still called "Scam," he always had his past thrown in his face, and was constantly trashed by media and fans alike.  Meanwhile, he was out working in the community, and throwing parties for terminally ill children, while ensuring that no media was made aware of it initially, because he did it from his heart.  So, I always related to him personally...  I have been counted out and had my past used against me at various points in my life.  I know what it feels like to be the kid headed down the wrong path, only to redeem yourself, and yet still, people only latch onto your shortcomings.  So, I've always pulled for Cam a little extra than most.  And then, to add onto that, all of the glory and magic he brought to our team, our state, and our region through his play and charisma - there will never be another Cam Newton in a Panthers uniform.  He should be honored as such.

I have to say I agree with 100% of what you said here and thank you for responding. I'm sorry it took me a bit to get back but you are so spot on and we agree on this COMPLETELY. Almost as if you took my thoughts straight out of my head and typed them here. Glad to hear someone else feels the exact same way I do about Cam. I will always appreciate how good he was to the kids and his community here. Just a good dude all the way around. A Panthers LEGEND far and away.

That was a smear and not so obvious dog whistle from Nikovich about Max Jones “helping” Cam learn the playbook.

im in the group that thinks Cam’s arm is shot and his career is very close to coming to an end but good Lord if you look at what Patriots people said about him on the way out - yikes. Too much dancing to rap music and too dumb to learn a playbook. Not very hard to read between the lines from a city like Boston who has had its run ins with people of color

Nothing makes me more furious than people being labeled as “dumb” because they learn in a different way.  Often, those folks are bright, and have an enormous gift in another way.  God blessed Cam with enormous athleticism and arm talent….and the smarts to know how to use it.

People need to stop labeling when they have zero idea about how differently we all learn, that has nothing to do with intelligence, or lack thereof.

It was a smear against Cam with racial undertones. Period.

Cam is a former NFL MVP, a bonafide superstar QB who can carry a team to a super bowl and very rich. He has earned his stripes. I had to look up who Ron Nikovich was.

It’s sickening.  I’m white, from a multiracial family, and I see it…because I care to, and I love all my family. I came of age during the Civil Right Movement, but it seems nothing has changed.

    • I guess I should have said better. I didn’t understand some of what was done last year from the year before, but I don’t see the OL as much of a question mark where last year it was.  And the staff knows for sure what they have to deal with at the QB position where it was a question for some last year.
    • Eye care is a topic most people know nothing about. Sure, we all know that you buy glasses when you're unable to see, but what more is there? If you want to learn all about caring for your eyes the right way, the tips and tricks found in this article will be sure to help you out. If your eyes are irritated by pollen or feel dry, use an eyewash. The eyewash can rinse your eyes of the impurities and make them feel more refreshed. Follow instructions on the package carefully. After the eyewash, your eyes should feel much better. Use the product a couple of times a day or as directed. A wide-brimmed hat can be your best friend when outdoors, especially when the sun is shining. A hat offers a lot of protection for your face, including areas like your eyelids where sun can sneak in around the edges of glasses. Eyelids are a fairly common place for melanoma to develop, so cover up outdoors with a stylish hat whenever you can. • Nah, Baker definitely wasn’t better than he was a couple seasons he had in Clev.  I mean, he was that guy.  That’s the dude we thought we were getting.  We just happen to a QBs worst nightmare.  Bakers best seasons are his 11-5 season, his rookie season and his Tampa season.  You can play with the order but you do it because it’s all comparable.  Literally no QB in NFL history produces an identical final stat line in different years….there is always going to be some slight difference. the defensive part….is being defensive about Canales.  Because the only QB you can claim he was a QB whisperer for was Geno….the dude that walked in on a team that won 10+ for a decade.  Canales had 1 year as a NFL OC  where he lead the 20th ranked O in a trash division.   And only Carolina talked to him.  Everyone isn’t going to be searching and arguing everything to positive given our consistent track record. Maybe he surprises.  Maybe Morgan too.  They certainly aren’t excitable hires though
