Has Darnold really been given a chance? Dude spent his time with one of the worst organizations in the League.

Interesting thing about that is when looking at his INTs, they seem to go down year after year.

15 in 2018

13 in 2019

11 in 2020 (the gong-show last season)

Also, he had TD totals of 17 in 2018 and 19 in 2019, followed by a DUD last season (only 9).

The difference?   Robbie was not on the Team in 2020.

So despite everything, he was starting to get better (albeit slightly) but he was in such a crappy organization that wouldn't know its ass from its you-know-what that he needed far more development than what they were doing for him.

Here's hoping this situation is it.

He played one less game last year then the previous years, also add the fact he had less pass attempts so less chances of throwing a pick...but all n all...he averages a INT a game...

And why don't you bring up the fact he's become more of a checkdown QB, his passing yards average is on a decline...he's worse than Teddy because Teddy knew he couldn't make the throw so didn't...Darnold will try...but we all know how that story goes...so...

No Turnovers all preseason for our QBs...how long will that last...???

Crazy to think his first pick might go to the Jets....wow

from our friends over at the Jets forum...

He was a turnover freak in HS.

He was a turnover freak @ USC.

He was a turnover freak as a Jet.

And he'll be a turnover machine @ Carolina too

Google his Turnovers from HS to now...he's gotten worse, you clearly forgot the FUMBLES. Take away Darnold's name, look at it like PJ's name is there...now tell me are you still a believer....if so, if you like Darnold now you going LOVE PJ later....

Yeah because opposing team's fanbases are so unbiased. 🙄

Gtfo with that sh-t and go post over there or something.

At this point, I'm more a Carolina Panthers fan than you are.

I would stop being a fan of this team if we ever signed him.

Honestly these are the pieces of poo the NFL has playing in the league. They’re all over the place. I’d recommend just watching it for the sport in the same sense you probably have enjoyed movies with actors in it that have done shitty things, same with music and products you buy and banks you bank with. It’s all a business just the same.

If this offends you, not watching the NFL altogether makes more sense than just not wanting a certain player coming to a team.

We'll see how much of a miracle worker Payton is.  Brees sure did make him look like a genius, but he failed his true calling of turning Taysom Hill into an NFL QB.  Jameis will probably do better in the offense, because the TB offense is built around taking shots.  Saints will keep him dinking and dunking most of the time.

Pretty sure Payton has a winning record the last 2 seasons when Brees got hurt. The fact that the saints still had a top flight offense with a noodle arm just goes to show how great Payton is

It comes down to whether or not he can cut down on the turnovers. The dude put up huge numbers in TB, it was just that the turnovers were part of the "huge numbers".

Seems similar to Silver Platter Sam in terms minimizing the bad...

...at least ol' Crab Legs has put up something to brag about on the good side of the ledger...

I wish some of y'all had the self awareness to just not comment when you didn't watch the game. You see three interceptions and think you can throw shade, but you didn't see a receiver catch a pass and let a DB take it from him or the tipped ball. No one blames those INTs in the QB unless they didn't watch and just want to troll.

This isn't about a "game"...

Panthers vs Saints won't be decided by the QBs. It's going to be their D-line vs our O-line and our D-line vs their O-line. Everything else is pretty much a wash.

Which side has the advantage? Not really sure at this point. Both o-lines have their difficulties and both teams have good defensive lines on paper.

    • I was listening to a radio show today and they discussed QBs at length.  Maye, was the biggest boom or bust prospect of the big 6.  McCarthy was the biggest question mark.  He played with an elite OL, dominant run game and heck of a head coach.  What would he look like on a, say. 1-15 NFL team? Nix, while universally QB6, they said at least you know what you are getting...solid, steady, yet unspectacular.  Obviously know Williams and Daniels are going off the board #1, #2.  Maye, may (pun), not be QB3 and that also may not be the Patriots with the third selection.  For all the UNC homers around here, Drake isn't the lock he was looking like months ago.  People have picked his game apart and come away less than blown away.
    • Great to hear from you Scot. Sorry to hear about your health problems my friend. Hope you get through them soon and back to your old self.  Like you I'm curious to see who's left on the board at 33 tomorrow after the dust settles. And like you I would love to see them grab a top center for the future if they get the chance. I'm not a big fan of moving an aging and injury ladened guard to center and counting on him to get you through a season. That's asking for trouble.  Keep Pounding my friend
    • https://www.profootballnetwork.com/latest-2024-nfl-draft-rumors-eagles-wr-buzz-michael-penix-jr-soaring-titans-caplan/ Cincinnati Bengals Multiple teams interested in veteran WR Tyler Boyd told PFN that the indication that they’ve received is that he plans to make his decision on where he plans to sign for the 2024 season after the draft. The feeling is, as a source with one of the teams said, is that he wants to see what teams do in the draft before going forward. Boyd, who is clearly the top slot receiver available on the open market, was looking for at least $9 million per year at one point earlier this offseason, another source said. The veteran pass catcher signed a four-year extension in July 2019 worth $43 million ($10.75 million per season), which expired in March. Houston Texans The Houston Texans looked into the potential of acquiring veteran WR Stefon Diggs, which went down on April 3, well before then, a league source with knowledge of the situation told us. The source indicated that the team was looking into his background and potential fit with them at least three to four weeks before the trade with the Buffalo Bills was completed. That would indicate that it wasn’t just the Bills who were looking to move him. As the source explained, the Texans felt that they wanted to build on last year’s surprising success to make another run in the playoffs.   Philadelphia Eagles There’s been surprising buzz around the Philadelphia Eagles and the wide receiver position.
As a coaching source who has worked with new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore in the past told us this week, his base offense, when he has enough players at the position, is 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR). Behind the two starters at wide receiver (A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith) are two veterans on one-year deals (DeVante Parker and Parris Campbell) who have had their share of injuries over the years. Tennessee Titans Multiple league sources strongly believe LT Joe Alt, if he falls to them at No. 7 overall, will be the selection at that spot. The feeling here is that by selecting Alt, who our sources say is the “safest” left tackle for the 2024 NFL Draft, would help solidify the left side of the Titans’ offensive line with Peter Skoronski entrenched at LG. If Tennessee is able to secure Alt, that would enable the coaches to move third-year OT Nicholas Petit-Frere to RT to compete for the starting job there. Defensively, a source with knowledge of the scheme says Tennessee’s expected to run a 3-4 front with new defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson. However, his scheme has some differences from former head coach Mike Vrabel’s version of the 3-4, which has its roots from the New England Patriots. Washington Commanders With a whopping six picks available within the top 100 selections (one first, two seconds, three thirds), some teams have told us they expect the Commanders to explore the possibility of packaging some draft assets to trade up for a higher-graded player to address needs on both sides of the ball (OL, DE, CB).   Latest Buzz on Top NFL Draft Prospects Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington There’s been a lot of talk in the scouting world lately that, despite his injury history, Michael Penix Jr. will wind up being a first-round pick. Penix, known in coaching and scouting circles as possessing the best deep arm of all the QBs projected to go off the board within the first few rounds, has shown the ability to process information well based on the game tape from the past few seasons. Some teams feel that there will be at least a few teams looking to replace their veteran signal-callers over the next few seasons and will look into either trading up from Round 2 or trading down in the first in order to select him later where he would be seen as a better value. Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas There has seemed to be a lot of buzz surrounding Adonai Mitchell in recent weeks, and as one scouting source said, it’s because of his size, speed, and talent. While he’s seen as a “late bloomer” and didn’t have huge numbers in college, Mitchell is still projected to go off the board late first/early second round due to upside and how he projects to be a starter at some point within the first few seasons at the next level.   Jalyx Hunt, EDGE, Houston Christian If you’re looking for a player who could go off the board much higher than first thought, it could be this guy. Jalyx Hunt started his collegiate football career off at Cornell as a safety but would eventually transition to edge rusher at Houston Christian due in part to a late growth spurt.
