I think you're the only person trying to paint that as a "drop". Sorry man. It was an awful throw and Thomas failed to come up with a complete circus catch on it.

I was just wanting some clarity, but I clearly see two posters on this thread alone that though the same.  I saw it bouncing off the hands, but I didn’t have the best view could have been fingertips…

Sam had no ints won the game and passed for 279 and a TD throwing and running.  And we are complaining

But he had a ball sail. Plus,  for some strange reason he was keen on getting the ball to one of the leagues most dynamic playmakers….

And did you see the way he laced up his shoes?
It was Gawdalful!

It definitely wasn't a "rare" throw. I don't have a problem with it though. He made the safe throw. Anderson was wide open. Slowing him down a little was the safe throw. Trying to hit him in stride and you risk overthrowing for no benefit.

and that is a very valid point, its very possible he played it safe, we've all seen QBs overthrow that pass also, but based on what what did happen I wouldn't say it was a rare throw.

His best throw of the game might have been the sideline pass to Moore in the 2nd quarter.  Tight coverage and he put it the one spot that gave his WR a chance to make a play.

Sam was under a decent amount of pressure all day. He had to throw off balance and with guys in his face. On that TD to Robby he had to slide left twice to find a window and had to throw it off balance to the right and couldn't totally set his feet. Under the circumstances it was actually a very good throw. All this he looked OK is way underselling the reality. Our playcalling in the second half was not great and we didn't score but 3 but for our first game after limited preseason play it was great from the stands. And that defense was very good. Snow brought the heat and we looked pretty good getting pressure.

I went to the play-by-play and if I counted Darnold's passes correctly he was 75% in the first half...with 2 of the incomplete passes being legit drops.  One by DJ and one by Marshall.  But please continue....

Tell me his completions on third down?

Then tell us his conversions on third down.

If you call enough easy passes any QB can have a high completion percentage.

Lol 2nd or 3rd? I hope he's way better than that considering the best we ever had was average at best.

If the only MVP in our history was average it's time to raise the bar for everybody this season. With that in mind we should have been able to manage more than 19 points against the worst team in the league.

Decent stats - 24/35, 279 yards, 1 TD, 1 rushing TD.  A fumble on a handoff.

Overall, impressed with his play as someone that feared the worst...  No real bone-headed throws.  A couple of misses, but he also had some surprising drops by receivers.  The fumble was bad, and against a better team, maybe catastrophic.  He (Brady?) needs to find ways to get the receivers involved every drive, and whether it was Darnold or Brady, the redzone plays were pretty bad outside the 2nd quarter.

The way he stood tall in the pocket and completed throws with DL about to hit him was impressive. I think this game goes a long way to showing he was not ruined by the Jets.  Elite arm strength on display on a few plays, including that incredible bomb to Robby.

Still too early to say, but we could have something as he grows with the elite skill players around him.  Let's look for a complete game next week!

Here's one thing that really impressed me and it was an incomplete pass :

He was rolling to his right....no one was open and what did he do?

He THREW THE BALL AWAY!!

Last season he would be trying to throw it into coverage ala Hero Ball to make a play and that would been risky(and disastrous if it was picked off).

He's being coached well at least in that aspect.

    • Avoid skipping any meals. Not only will this not help you lose weight, but you could be depriving yourself of important nutrients that you need everyday. This can cause your body to also think it's starving and so it will mess up your metabolism, By the time you do eat again, you will most likely overeat. Don't be hard on yourself when trying to lose weight. Give yourself a break. Know that sometimes you won't make it to your workout, sometimes you'll eat badly and sometimes you will want to stop. But being easy on yourself means that you forgive yourself and can continue until you lose the weight you want to lose. One of the best ways to help you lose weight is to harness the power of visualization. By visualizing what we want out bodies to look and feel like in the future, we'll be far better equipped to stick to our fitness goals. Visualization really is the key when losing weight. • @Anybodyhome what’s the rule if say… Either side pulls a goalie, or goalie injury, etc and someone picked a goalie by name.  IE: a goalie pitched a shutout but leaves due to injury, and the other team scores on the replacement. Should we add a caveat goalie must finish the game to be considered for a shutout? Or should we just consider it by team shutout?   Sorry to throw a wrench in there.
