Panthers at Texans - What Texans Fans are Saying

The first 2 games the Panthers have absolutely dominated the first half.  We need to put together 4 quarters and get in the paint (still a big issue) and we can beat anyone.  Can we do that is the question.

This team will eventually have to play from behind.  Like Parchells said, its when adversity hits that you find out what someone is really about

Here is what Houston Texans fans are saying about their Thursday night game against the Carolina Panthers.

On the Carolina Panthers

I really cannot disagree with much here. The Panthers struggled to beat a very bad Jets team and the Saints game could be an anomaly with them missing so many coaches during the game. Still, it is the Panthers defense that makes me think the Panthers are for real this season. 10 sacks in 2 games. That is difficult to argue against.

On the importance of losing their starting QB

In what world do you automatically mark a W because of Taylor? lol. Unless Deshaun Watson was playing again this game was always going to be favored by the Panthers. The Texans are in a dumpster fire period of their history with perhaps the worst front office/head coaching combo in the league.

On the prospects of their own rookie QB

Sounds like they have a Jimmy Clausen type situation on their hands. Texans may be picking 1 overall.

On signing Cam Newton

This guy gets it. The Texans are on the decline in a big way. Why pull that bandage off slowly? Play your rookie, lose your games. Trade Watson and load up with lots of draft picks in 2022.  A proper rebuild is in order.

This is where we learn from our mistakes and get ready for the brutal second half.  If we can win the majority of these games we'll have a chance to make the playoffs and then all bets are off.

Yeah, that last month of the schedule is brutal. It’s going to be portrayed as a collapse, but in reality it will be more of a “coming back down to earth” after playing the world champs twice.
I still think we’re a year away from competing with the big boys, but I really like where we are headed and a good season this year is just a bonus to me.

We will beat the Bucs once and I stand by that.

DISCLAIMER: The following is mostly pipe dreaming.

We could go into the last month at 12-1 and end the season 12-5.  I do not think that will actually happen, but from where I'm sitting, I don't see a team between now and then where I would say we probably won't win.  I see some difficult games, but ALL of them very winnable.

We do not face a single super bowl contender (not the same as playoff contender) until those last 4 weeks.  I think our defense is playing at a championship level, and that goes a long way to winning games against middle of the pack teams and wild card teams.  Right now for me, the question is can we maintain this or will a team like Dallas or Arizona expose some weakness that I'm not seeing yet?
