Teddy vs Darnold

Both are 3-0 on new teams. Took solid defensive minded teams and helped elevate their offense to 3-0 records. This isn’t a stat comparison thread but a discussion based on the obvious. Everyone is waiting for Monday’s power rankings and where each team will sit, just for arguments sake. Since we all know power rankings are biased horse poo like the pro bowl. The real conversation I want to start is which QB benefited most from their first 3 opponents. Looking over the schedules I will say both weren’t full of world beating teams but I’d say the Saints are a decent amount better than either the Jags or the Giants. We both annihilated the Jets.  The Texans have a better defense than people want to give them credit for whom also beat the Jags handily. So to make a long winded post short, we have the better 3-0 because of SOS. This should be interesting to look at another 3 week down the line. Just because the media will continue to compare situations, because of the obvious.

Teddy is a game manager, he will get better completion percentage because he checks down a lot. Defense were never scared of us beating them over the top.

I did not watch his game today but saw some of game two and highlights from week 1.  He is definitely taking the "Check-down Teddy" to heart and sending targets downfield.  Not stretching the field but making some good throws on slants and outs.  I don't have a problem giving him some credit for Denver's success.  Both Teddy and the Panthers are in better places this season.

We are 0-3 with Teddy as our QB guaranteed. Brady draws up his plays to always have a safety valve. Darnold notices this but yet still takes the longer throw when its there. Teddy would 100% always take the underneath pass. The difference betweeen Darnold and Teddy is the difference between wanting to win vs protecting your completion percentage.

darnold can threaten the defense and stretch the field in ways teddeh cannot

It's honestly not even a comparison - and I have a Denver Broncos supporting friend who's desperate to rub it in about how great Bridgewater is doing and what a steal it was.

I call him Toxic Teddy in every reply (which irritates the fug out of him). We HAD to move on from Bridgewater from a culture standpoint - it's night and day how he and Darnold carry themselves.

Not to mention Darnold has made a dozen throws already this season that Bridgewater is physically incapable of making - which is why he doesn't attempt them.

Right now Bridgewater is doing what he always does - keeps the offence in rhythm and ticking between the 20s. He's the same guy he's always been and will continue to struggle when playing from behind and asked to win the game.
