Yea he always answers in short monotone mumbles with that sad face. I could care less about his personality as long as he plays well and doesn’t become an issue in the locker room 🤷‍♂️

I saw him crack a small, sideways smile/grin a few times. You could tell that he couldn't wait until it was all over lol. Quiet doesn't bother me. Can't wait to see his gametime on-the-field personality. He could be a Kuechly type of guy. Quiet off the field, a monster on the field.

He’s feisty in the field for sure. I think all DBs have to be to play that position. In his highlights you can see him jawing at receivers and the point at TY Hilton made me LOL

His introverted manner is of no concern to me.  Not every CB is a loud. cocky blowhard.

I took him as respectful to the reporters, not used to this interview routine, and a guy who'll let his play do the talking for him.

The good to take from the interview is that he seems happy to be here (a "player oriented team, with older guys to learn from"), and while we all agree he was miserable playing for Jax, he avoided the opportunity to trash that organization.  Looked modest and classy to me.

Eager to see him do his thing.  It should be a far more valuable add to the team than what Arnold could contribute.

Before the start of last season (meaning pre-draft/ pre-free agency), the Panthers had really only 1 somewhat proven blue-chip defensive player in Brian Burns

Now, by my estimation, we have arguably 6 :

  • Brian Burns
  • Derrick Brown
  • Haason Reddick
  • Shaq Thompson (he finally looks like a worth successor to Luke/TD)
  • Jeremy Chinn
  • Donte Jackson

More importantly, we have 5 other players that are on the cusp and/or have blue-chip potential:

  • Jaycee Horn
  • CJ Henderson
  • Morgan Fox
  • Daviyon Nixon (Definitely top-end talent on film)
  • Yetur Gross-Matos

That doesn't even include the other non blue-chip guys on defense who are still solid contributors:

  • Jermaine Carter
  • Frankie Luvu
  • DaQuan Jones (good player but older)
  • Marquis Haynes (honestly could see him signing elsewhere for more opportunity b/c he could start for some teams)
  • Juston Burris

Bottom line is this, In less than 2 years, this team has added high-end talent across all levels of the defense.

Truly remarkable what Matt Rhule & Phil Snow have done

And Fitterer. No way we’re here if Hurney is still around.

So I was curious so I asked my wife about Peppers.  She graduated high school with him.  She said introverted was a good way to describe him.  Quiet.  Didn't talk to many people.  She said he hated having any kind of spotlight on him.

When you’re a 6’8 290lbs chiseled out of solid granite Punnett square lottery winner, the “spotlight” was turned on at conception.
