Teams don't tend to deal quality OL, and quality OL don't tend to migrate to other teams for a "fair price."  Offensive lineman are one of those positions that you really need to draft to ensure you get your guy.  If an offensive lineman "hits" and becomes a good player for another team...you probably won't see him again.  This is a big contrast to a position like CB, where even the best players at the position in their prime tend to be available via trade or free agency.

I appreciate the honesty and perhaps Fitterer and Rhule didn't like any of the draft prospects (seems unlikely) and they couldn't get anyone to do a trade earlier (also seems unlikely).  Not bashing Fitterer, but OL has been a HUGE oversight.
