More Illuminating Stats/Context On What's Happening With Sam and Robby

Robby was a no-name Nobody on the Jets.

He played better with Teddy because he wasn't used as a Deep threat 'cause Teddy couldn't throw it deep to save his life.    Easy to catch 2 to 5-yarders and stat-pad your way to a nice contract extension(that is undeserved).

That's an outright lie. Anyone who follows football knew who Anderson was while he was on the Jets before Sam ever arrived. Robby was a UDFA that came into the league and made a name for himself pretty early on as he played himself onto the field as a legit starter. You don't even have to really know his story, all you have to do is look at his production. He came into the league exceeding expectations, and really hasn't been in the best of situations regarding QBs.

BTW, it was Rhule's plan to use Robby as more than just a deep threat when he was signed, as he had shown some potential to be more than a deep threat within the Jets offense the last year or two that he was there. All you had to do was listen to interviews around when Robby was signed.

There’s a reason why Robby didn’t want Darnold over Teddy. Now, we see why. It’s kind of sad that Adam Gase was able to get Robby involved with Sam in NY but our offensive genius Joe Brady can’t.

You have a source for this or did you just make it up?

The facts are Robby was better on the jets before Sam arrived, and he was better with Teddy in Carolina. There seems to be one common denominator in Robby struggles

You know the truth is, I remember seeing an interview with Robbie when Sam was acquired, and he seemed shocked and said ‘no one talked to him about it’ prior to the trade.

yet he signed the extension AFTER the trade, though.

He signed it KNOWING that Sam was traded to the team he is on.

He could've said "F*ck it.  I'm testing Free Agency".

You are wasting your breath arguing with the resident Darnold superfan. Logic and statistics are lost on him. He just sees his hero being mildly attacked and he goes into a frenzy.

Well, I doubt any other team was going to offer him $30 million to play

he has never been the kind of receiver to command that kind of extension

I don’t know about you but I could overlook a lot of incompetence for $30 million

true but I think you'd agree with me that it was a very foolish decision by the FO to sign him to that extension in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

Also, since we are on the subject of Teddy not being able to throw it deep:

Passes over 20 yards(source is NFL Next Gen Stats)

Teddy 2020

8/17, 250 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Passer Rating: 88.48

Teddy 2021

5/15, 172 yards, 1 TD. Passer Rating: 99.86

Darnold 2021

9/24, 284 yards, 1 TD. Passer Rating: 96.53

Boy those 2020 and 2021 results seem pretty similar......

There’s videos and articles on the internet, probably even on this board of Robby last year saying one of the reasons he signed in Carolina was because of Teddy Bridgwater. He then went on NFLGMF right after the Sam trade saying he was surprised and not expecting it. Don’t accuse me of making it up just because you didn’t pay attention to the news and missed it.
