the universe was called the XFL

PJ Walker was XFL MVP.  Heinicke was a backup QB the same season in the XFL.

Did you not see what Taylor did last year in the playoff game? The 2nd half against us?

This year against us?

The throws he was making against Seattle.

He's head and shoulders better than PJ

There's this narrative that Heinicke was the twinkle in Ron Rivera's eye and he always knew he had something special, just had to let him develop and learn how to be a pro.  As if he's been riding the bench there for years and finally got his chance.

In reality he had been cut like 50 times and was on the couch when WFT brought him in last year.  He figured his NFL career was over and was taking online classes to set up the rest of his adult life.  This is similar to how every year somebody says "you know I can think of a guy who was drafted in the 6th round once who turned out to be a pretty good QB... " during the draft.  Heinicke is on a magic carpet ride right now and it's a fun story and all that, but for every one of him there are a dozen others who wash out of the league every year and are never heard from again.

a win is a win. and he clearly is a prime example of people not properly evaluating qbs. cause he was cut in favor of other guys and where are they? exactly.

Walker may have been a better college QB too... Doesn't look like he's a better NFL player, which is all that matters for us.

yall don't know what pj is, cause carolina won't allow him to properly develop. properly developing a qb is not throwing in him in the line of fire at the 4th quarter with very little time, the team has given up and then having him play hero ball. outside of detroit and arizona, that's all we've seen thus far.

washington didn't do that with heineke, they let him play multiple games since last season with an off season and everything and its paid off.

how would anybody know? the only game he had with 4 quarters was detroit lol. and before you start, heineke also threw his fair share of interceptions, mainly because his arm isn't as strong as pj's.

I never said that about heineke...but that's true he could develop. Heineke had even less playing time than Walker we have seen more of Walker than we did of Taylor and Taylor wasn't throwing early as many ints.

heineke has been playing 4 quarters since last season. so no, pj has not had more playing time. and yes, heineke was throwing more interceptions, but never did that stop rivera from playing him. rivera could have gotten another qb, he didn't. rhule needs to take a page from rivera. (never thought i'd say that).

as to heineke being protected last year but PJ wasn't.. Lol... the dude was forced into action because Fitz went on IR this year or he'd prob still be on the bench... it wasn't like Rivera was babying to develop him... now the WFT were comfortable with him as their QB , since he performed pretty damn well in his relief appearance (remember he came in late vs us) and his only start last year, unlike PJ... 3 TDs and only 1 int in >50 passes thrown.  Compare that to PJ last year, 1 TD and 5 INTs (and that many INTs was on fewer balls thrown than Heineke last year).

Both Heineke and Walker played in relief of their starters and had one start, and the difference in results was, ah, abundantly clear.

I'd love for PJ to have a better career but yeah, it isn't looking like he is more than a backup... this team isn't really able to develop a QB clearly.

first couple starts heineke throw at least 2 picks like every other game. and once again, heineke has had multiple 4th quarter opportunities, pj has not. you dont want to like him or give him a chance because of some irrational XFL dislike? fine. but tell the truth, the truth is pj should have been put in back in 2020 after that vikings game, teddy should have been benched, especially since they already knew they were gonna get rid of teddy.and once again, tell the truth you don't pj to have a career with the panthers, stop it.

Heineke was only on a roster last year because of tons of injuries and he knew the offense. It wasn't like he was carefully developed.  He made the most of the opportunities he got last year and that's why he's playing now.  Sometimes backups have that happen.

I have no dislike of the XFL.  I legitimately have no problem with PJ. He's just not very good unfortunately, or at least hasn't been to date. Maybe that'll change some day...
