Why not Doug Pederson?

He's proven, went to a SB, only was on the outs because of that slime ball Howie Roseman, actually was right about some things in the organization (ie the FO wanted to fire Frank Reich the year they won the superbowl but he fought that off), and I believe the players actually liked him. That last year was not on him.

I actually like the idea of Pederson as an OC if we keep Rhule but fire Brady.

He's got a track record of success, runs a West Coast type system so no need for system based personnel turnover. Plus he's got a Panther connection through VP of Player Personnel Pat Stewart.

Hell, he was even on the 95 offseason roster (didn't make the team though).

You'd just have to convince Matt Rhule to hire him rather than promoting one of his own people.

Good luck with that part 😕

I think Rhule is reasonable enough to be able to look back at what didn’t and did work. Then make those changes. Unfortunately it means firing a few names

Go back to his history though. He turned down the Jets head coaching job because they wanted input on his staff.

Turns out they may have had valid reason.

We didn't hire him to be the college version of Ron Rivera if he has to be told any of this it's time to move on.

Can Tepper put the screws on him saying you no longer are allowed to promote your own buddies but are required to get proven NFL Offensive Coordinators....or else you can go back to college?

If I'm Pederson, why would I be a OC when I have a good shot at being a HC next year?

Sure, but given Rhule's history I'm not sure he'd agreed to it and that could lead to a parting of the ways.

(which I'd be fine with)

    • I really think this is where the crux of everything lies. Frank and co had no clue what to draw up once Young was the pick. He’s been around long enough to know a coach killer when he sees one. He knew it was a ship destined to sink. He saw how the skill set of the line players didn’t match the scheme. Same thing with receivers. He saw how 0.0% of the Bryce hype was actually true. He couldn’t wait to get fired, and used the weekly decapitation attempts on Bryce as leverage for Tepper to finally do so. Hell, he probably bought Ickey a G wagon as a show of appreciation.
