Points for and against ranks, adjusted for opponents

Points for and against can sometimes be a bit misleading depending on who is on your schedule.  For example, holding KC to 25 points is a good day whereas allowing Detroit to score 25 would be bad.

This graph accounts for your opponents.

Basically, we have the 7th (maybe 6th, in line with KC) best defense and 7th worst offense according to the chart.

Snow's defense might actually help save Rhule's job.  Tepper might buy the idea that if Rhule changes the offense that the team could turn around quickly.

Add in the fact that we are one of the youngest defenses in the league.

If Tepper buys anything Rhule is selling, I have no idea how he became a hedge fund billionaire.

Curious how this chart looks at the end of the season. While we might have the 6th or 7th best defense as of today, it’s not a great sign that we’ve been strafed by two below average offenses on both the ground and thru the air over the past two weeks.

I think the team is starting to lay down. We will see in two weeks. If they get smashed after a bye week, it's over.

    • DARNOLD IS A CERTIFIED BUST. I'd rather watch the Strong kid take his lumps OR since he is so raw, sit behind QB1 for two or so years while we develop him. NOBODY is going to pay good money to watch Sam Darnold. He's not iconic or entertaining.
    • Yeah, they’re all flawed.  Right now it’s probably best to ride with Darnold, as bad as he is, and work on OL.  With some luck we can improve our protection and go hard for a QB in 2023.
    • To Tepper. "Buy Low and Sell High" is a common saying in the stock market community. It seems simple enough but there can be a lot of work that goes into it. I think mostly success following this motto comes because of skill in evaluating the products and markets involved. Based on your portfolio you probably are someone with this skill, or at least consult with people who have it. In football evaluation is pretty important too. Its more than just measuring arm length and suggested versatility. "Buying low and Selling High" is still an important concept in football, but the evaluation is different. Please invest in getting some people on the Coaching Staff and FO that have these skills where football in concerned, because based on the product (The 2021-22 Carolina Panthers) you, and nobody you have been consulting with lately have this skill. Sincerely MG
