Dude how much eggnog have you had tonight

what in the hell are you talking about

You can’t read?

Be careful opening Pandora’s box on paying college football recruits.  It was amazingly prevalent in the past.

Calling out Brent Venables is ridiculous

I think Rhule ends up at ND. IMO he’s a very Brian Kellyesque type of coach. Process, system, builder. I think he likes that about college and it doesn’t work in the NFL the way he thought it may.

ND is giving Freeman a chance to see if they get in the CFP and let him show what he can do. But after that I fully expect them to go looking for BK replacement.

The timeline matches up so that if we lose 1-2 more games and are basically eliminated from playoffs in mid December (likely) Rhule is going to start putting feelers out. ND will be the best job available. Freeman will be out…Rhule will be in. That’s my hunch. Which could be completely wrong. But it’ll give Rhule time to know this season is over. It’ll give ND time to evaluate Freeman.

ND went through a serious dry spell with some of their hires during the early-2000s. They don’t want to go back to that. Getting a proven builder at the college level is going to be important. I think Fickell could take the OU job. I don’t think they’ll want someone who hasn’t been a HC like Venables.

ND promoted their DC to HC yesterday. That ship has sailed.

Dude what are you talking about paying players. Rumors about Vernables has nothing to do w paying players. Apparently he may be a hot head who thinks with the wrong part of his body.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/panthers-matt-rhule-remains-coveted-by-college-programs-but-hes-not-interested-as-of-now/

But numerous league and college sources said the NFL coach held in highest regard by many premier programs is Carolina coach Matt Rhule.

Sources said LSU had Rhule atop their wish list -- it ended up hiring Brian Kelly from Notre Dame -- as did USC and Oklahoma, the latter yet to name a coach with Lincoln Riley going to USC. Programs put out major feelers for Rhule, sources said, a coach who revived programs at Temple and Baylor and produced staffs and players who excelled as well. Rhule is in his second year of what has been a rocky tenure with the Panthers, as that team struggles to find an offensive identity and, most importantly, someone to handle quarterback duties for more than a temporary basis.

but college programs still wanted to gauge his interest before moving on with their searches. That is likely to remain the case next year, though it's hard to envision as many of these type of destination jobs opening up in 2022. Many close to Rhule have long maintained that the Penn State job would be the most difficult for him to turn down, but Nittany Lions coach James Franklin recently signed a long-term extension to stay in Happy Valley (though numerous college sources were adamant that he was hopeful of landing one of the several big jobs that opened up last month).

Why don't you post  facts,  not innuendos found in black holes on the internet.  POST THE LINKS, instead of spewing "rumors" started in a rivals basement etc..

Dabo is a really good guy, but I long have maintained he stuck gold with his OC and DC picks year ago.  He lost his OC going into this season and Clemson's offense struggled.  It remains to be seen if their defense stays a top 5 unit as they have been all these years with Venables.  In short, we get to see how Clemson looks without the two guys that kept them a top program in the nation.  Dabo has his work cut for him in 2022 if this year's offensive struggles are any indication.

As for OU, it's a smart choice.  While their offense is usually high octane, the defense is what has held them back for a long time.  It makes sense to go get one of the top defensive guys in the nation.

I guess we dont have an easy route but the idea Rhule could still get fired for poor performance and have all the good options off the table is very fitting considering how Cam's release was handled.

To be real though, if Rhule we're to get fired, I'm pretty sure his bank account has enough of a cushion that he could wait around a year or so to see if something to his liking opens up.

With out a doubt but his ego would be feeling it.

Rhule is a builder. He built our defense that was at the bottom of the league for the last 2 years and has made them into a top 5 unit. I think he gets a year to try and fix the offense. Just make sure he fires brady and doesn't make the choice for QB because it's clear we have no idea what we are doing there.

    • It's not football OR basketball. Football runs the college sports world now. The ACC went all in on football with their expansion adding VT and Miami they just bet on bad horses. Those programs had peaked and were on the slide. This latest expansion reeks of sheer desperation. Cal, Stanford, and SMU? LOLOLOLOL  Those programs haven't been relevant for decades and we're the only P5 conference that would even consider them. It's over. FSU is suing to get out. Clemson is suing to get out. UNC wants out they're just too polite to cause a ruckus. It's a wrap. It's over.
