Are you willing to give Rhule a third season?

Actually yes, and here's why...

With the dearth of Top 100 draft picks available to the Carolina Panthers in the 2022 draft, in the long term it might be best to be as awful as possible in the 2022 season in order to increase the value of the team's 2023 draft picks.

The above being said on the presumption that Fitterer stops sending Carolina's future draft picks to other teams sometime soon.

The only way I’m giving Rhule another year if I’m Tepper is the following things happening.

1.  He plays the rookies on the offensive line so that they can learn on the fly.

2. He wins 3 of his final 5 games with one of those being against Tampa the first time or on the road in Buffalo. Beating the Falcons, wounded Saints and a resting bucs team will not cut it.

3. the defense is noticeably better in the last five games and guys haven’t mailed it in.

4.  Special teams is without a blunder the rest of the way. Not necessarily a missed pat or FG, but having kicks blocked and big returns can not happen.

Give me Brian Daboll and Doug Pederson with a completely revamped O-line.

Only thing is that the Panthers probably aren't getting into a bidding war for the next coach so if either are looking for a big payday it may not happen here.

Somebody who has something to prove and I'd financially set is probably more likely unless either one of those guys is ok with not being among the most highly paid.

Terrible mistake giving Rhule all that money. Thing was that Rhule was the sexy name at the moment just like Zack Wilson. Bottom feeders go after the hot names and are often sadly mistaken.

Devil's advocate:

We knew his background when he was hired.  There was little bitching.

We knew this was a long-term project, hence the long-term contract.  Many said, "Three years, blah blah."

About 24 games into his contract, the mob is lighting torches and grabbing pitchforks.

For the concrete operational Huddler: This does not mean I am endorsing Rhule or want him here.  This should not cause you to attack the poster.  This is a reflection and it is interesting to see how quickly the milk spoiled.

You think the team owner that gave an unproven college coach a 7 year, 60 million dollar contract that paid him more than some successful coaches won't pay an established coordinator? 🤔

Terrible football decisions. Rebuilding is a gimmick. You can either do the job or not.

100%.  Like how Urban Meyer said every week feels like playing Alabama in the NFL.  Some rosters are better than others, but the gap is never that bad.  The worst NFL roster is way better than the best college one.  You can either win or you can't, and that becomes evident within 2-3 seasons.
