I can't believe we pasted up on that beast of an OG (lol) for a CB. 

Years and years of wanting a stud LT and we pass up a great one. Just stupid from every angle.

One thing I've never understood with the OT/OG and where to draft them thing. 

Even if you believe someone is a OG...but an All-Pro one, he's worth a damn Top 10 pick. Worst case scenario for Slater in Rhule's mind could've just been "eh, try him at OT. If it doesn't work, he's a stud OG". But even that made too much sense.

I mean rookie all pro lts are pretty common, he’s a guard anyways, and he has a mobile qb, don’t forget about Horn, if he played this year we wouldn’t even need oline

Very true, but it was completely unnecessary to say in that interview. It was essentially doubling down on their initial (wrong) assessment of his skillset, which not only makes him look bad, it makes the scouting look incompetent. "Didn't want to draft a guard that high" Implies they would have played him out of position had they actually drafted him instead of sticking him at LT where he has shown out. It basically says what they did to BC this season, they would have done to Slater too, and that just makes them look foolish.

He could have avoided the ire by saying, "Slater is a great player too, he was on our board but we just had Jaycee Higher."

That's it. that's all he had to say.
