I see Mac Jones with a way better arm.. He is a throw back not much of a runner.. But hes big can add weight to his frame..

Out of all the QBS in this draft his video shows the most NFL throws.. Putting laser between 2 or 3 defenders, beating tight coverage, showing touch and different ball speeds, dropping dimes in a bucket. Plus he gets the ball out quick and makes good decisions when doing it... His arm shows it all.. I wouldn't be mad if we get a 2nd round pick and get him...

This is the progression you want to see when picking a QB.. Every year he get better.. That's The Parcell qb evaluation chart..

The big red flag with Strong is that he stares down his receivers and holds on to the ball way too long for not being a mobile QB.

He reminds me a lot of Jared Goff.

Out of all the top QB’s in the draft, he’s probably played the overall weakest schedule so it’ll be interesting to see how he does in the senior bowl.

Watching some of the vids, he did have a strong arm but he seems to be a one read QB starring down, not looking off his intended targets. He could probably be coached up though.

Now is that a system thing and he's capable of actually doing it like Herbert, or is he just a one read panic guy like Darnold?

I'm personally pretty high on Strong (and Howell, but I don't think anyone in the area can be objective with him because he plays for UNC).

I think either way, if we manage to trade down and recoup a 2nd round pick, or god willing, another first from a team with multiple, we take OL then one of the QBs, let the QB sit for a year, then hire a decent coach in 2023.

Cam looked as if he still has a cannon when he over threw Robbie on a go route. That's not easy to do.

When you overthrow deep shots like that with QBs of a questionable arm, it’s because your arm is shot to a degree.  You can’t tell how much to put into a throw so you just put everything into it.  It was happening to Eli, Brees, a lot of others at the end.

Regardless, Strong is an interesting prospect.  I’d still prefer stacking up on OL because if he came here he would not succeed.  I have a lot of sympathy for our rookies next year

there's a lot of high risk throws in that package. he has a fantastic arm, obviously, but whoever put this together didn't put in a lot of plays when he had to work through progressions. he threw a lot of guys open with deep balls. he seems good at timing throws, but to me it looks like he's sitting on one route and just putting the best ball he can in that direction instead of finding something higher percentage. that's going to get you a lot of attention from NFL safeties watching your eyes. he reminds me of jacob eason last year.

I'm not sure if it's a system thing or not but he has the physical intangibles, IF he has the mental, he can be taught...
