Unverified and unsubstantiated....Panthers Closing in on Trade for Love

I heard the same thing, but I don't trust that source.

Sources gonna source lol

If you're going to poach QBs because there is not an obvious one, you poach from the Bill Walsh tree. Walsh to Holmgren and now Reid.

Same reason I wanted Mark Brunnell and Kurt Warner in 1995 instead of Kerry Collins. I wanted McNair/Brunnell/Warner, Warren Sapp, Ty Law, and Derrick Brooks to start the franchise. Instead, we got Kerry Collins, Tyrone Poole, Blake Brockermeyer, and Shawn King.

That gives you Buechele, Foles, Hogan, and Bray. Nothing flashy, but QBs who can win like Brunnell and Warner. Role the dice on one or two of them when you don't see anything great because everything is just flash and fluff.

Buechele is being protected by Reid. Foles is on the Bears roster and may be traded. Hogan is on the Titans roster. Titans would be better if they got over Tannehill and went with Hogan. Bray is on the street just like Kurt Warner going into the 1998 season.

Winners>Top Prospects (eye candy)

60s: Unitas>Namath

70s: Staubach>Bradshaw

80s: Montana>Elway

90s: Favre>Aikman

2000s: Brady>Manning

2010s: Wilson>Stafford

2020s: TBD?

I don't think we will ever learn the lesson history has been teaching us. Everyone likes their shiny QB that looks good over winners and everyone follows the leader.

    • I think Caleb is a massive bust waiting to happen. He is supremely talented but yeah, he seems like he's a really bad mixture of very cocky and also mentally fragile. There WILL be bumps in the road at the NFL level. There's gonna be games where you just go out there and get your ass kicked. I'm not sure if he's built to handle that. People think I hate Bryce and I don't. He seems like a really good dude. I just don't think he has the physical talent to be a high level NFL starting QB.
    • Said before, why do you do a major revamp and skimp at C? I think you finish the job. Corbett is unknown to us as a C, and usually you’d trust professionals to assess, and act if necessary. I like Morgan and he isn’t making me rethink that so far, and I think if one they really like is within reach they will make that move. I personally feel like it is a more important to cover that position than what amounts to another WR lottery ticket. And Young, in my mind, sort of puts a ceiling on what you can take advantage of. It isn’t racing on the interstate with him, it is city racing from stoplight to stoplight.
    • I will say this, as a luke warm to cold Bryce guy....I'd much rather pull for Bryce Young vs having to pull for Caleb Williams.  Caleb seems mentally weak, idiotic, and unable to lead a team of grown men do to being a mega clown.  Bryce just lacks the Madden created tools you want your QB to have and likely is going to resemble Eli's leadership more so than Peyton's.  And the brothers got the same rings in the end off both styles.
