All these teams are giving Malik Willis the finger right now.  Personally, I didn't want him either, but these teams got this dude's hopes up for nothing.  Even had him make the trip to Vegas, and it looks like he is about to free fall.  That's wrong.

Media got his hopes up. Word was most all times had him listed as a project. Media miscalculated greatly

Eh, more fuel to the fire for Willis. I’m sure I’m the 10 millionth person to mention, Brady was a 6th round pick so yeah.

Brady played at Michigan and made some big time throws and comebacks even though he was a backup. Malik struggled at Liberty. Liberty! And is undersized and wildly inaccurate on short and intermediate throws. Like what are you guys expecting here?

The last time the Panthers took a qb in the 2nd round who had a 1st round grade: Jimmy Clausen.

To be fair, that was a Marty Hurney first round grade.

Hurney also put a first round grade on Greg Little.

I'm definitely not opposed to rolling the dice on Willis as long as the cost is reasonable. Something like our 4th and Robby Anderson to a wr desperate team to get back into the latter half of the 2nd could make sense for both teams.

That strategy doesn't really work for Matt Rhule though...

Final word on Willis, and one of the smarter takes I've seen...

Media deserves a lot of blame but it really picked up when all 32 teams had at least one rep at his pro day. Personally I think that’s when the train started to leave the station. He was the only QB to have a representative from all 32 teams at his pro day (to my knowledge) and while Rhule and Tomlin were the only HC’s, that much personnel representation is on par with a first round draft pick.

A lot of it probably had to do with who Liberty is… small school, young program, etc… so let’s send some guys there to just check it out.

But yeah, it was a mess all the way around.
