A really good video on Matt Corral

If he can handle the mental stuff we got a steal. There have been a lot of QBs who come into the league with elite physical traits, powerful arms, grit, toughness, etc. who fail. There’s a reason he was available at the end of the 3rd and I don’t think it was because he enjoyed drinking and got into a fight with a kid at a prep school. I think the only Super Bowl winning QB to score under a 20 on the wonderlic was Terry Bradshaw, and there’s just no way Terry could play in today’s game with his mental capacity. I hope Corral is the exception, just trying to temper my expectations.

Dude was my favorite QB in the class for a long time. I was in the Corral camp long before the combine rolled around. But since drafting him I keep getting more and more excited about him every day. I really feel he will be our QB of the future. Fingers crossed.

i missed what you said in the past.  Where did corral rank for you and what was your reaction to getting him in the 3rd?

If I recall, I think she had him as her 3rd QB.

Taking a QB in the 3rd that "can be a starter" one day is absolute gold.  Even if a high end backup, we need one of those too.

I had him as my QB 1.

My thoughts have not changed on this qb class.  I said that if the Panthers are bound and determined to take a qb from this class I would prefer Corral.

That's not to say he's a sure fire lock to be great or even good at this level.  I just think he has the best shot at making a career in the nfl.

yea he’s got some uncoachable, elite traits no doubt, and tbh I’m not even worried about this off field stuff especially in boring Charlotte lol

good city to just focus

my concern is really just the general NFL learning curve and dealing with failures - he has to keep on top of it, some of those moves on film are great and all but they won’t fly at all in the NFL…which I suppose you could say about many qbs coming in, Zach Wilson is found that out last year

Mahomes made em work tho, but mahomes also got a year to sit and tune it along with elite coaching

these are the reasons I really don’t want to see him out there too early, let him learn for half season-ish at least imo

even a high caliber back up would be worth the pick. And since Rhule refuses to let go of PJ we can move him to assistant to the back up qb or something

Damn the kid hasn’t even had 1 proper practice.  poo fellas tap the brakes

... this is what my post post yesterday was about. At this speed, the kid is deemed a HOF lock before traning camp.

I am pulling for him and hope he hits but fug he was a 3rd rounder for a reason.  All of those teams and all of those scouts are way smarter then us at the end of the day.  Sure there are exceptions to the rule but yeah good luck kid

That's just silly. People feel optimistic about it. Literally no one is even saying anything remotely to the effect that he'll even be a pro bowler. Just that he's got traits that could help him be a good starter and could be someone special. Only ones exaggerating or going over the top is you and @mrcompletely11 in the way you are talking about people's optimism and hopes.

Everyone else is being pretty rational and measured in their hopes for the guy.
