Mac was better than average as a rookie starter. Mac Jones had a 67% completion percentage his first year. That's damn good and far more accurate than anything Sam Darnold could muster.

Mac is superior to Sam as a rookie, yeah.

Mac was also just a game manager, the D and great coaching won them games. 

Mac in Carolina would have looked as bad or worse than Darnold. He is not anything special and is already at or near his ceiling.

We had no idea that 2003 or 2015 were going to be the seasons they ended up being.  If Corral led us to the Superbowl he would be the first rookie QB to do it in the history of the NFL. So the odds would be very long indeed
